This morning, out walking my dogs...I had the blessing and pleasure of watching a hawk. It was making lazy circles in the air high overhead. As I watched another hawk appeared and also began to circle.
It was so beautiful that I stopped to watch. It was like watching a carefully choreographed dance. I knew they were hunting.
Suddenly one of the hawks folded his wings close to his body and dove out of the sky like a bullet. I thought about it's target on the ground, some little animal, a mouse , or a squirrel.
As the hawk neared he must have spread his wings to break his descent. The prey wouldn't have known anything was wrong till it saw the shadow descending on it. Then it would have been too late to hide, too late to run...too late to do anything.
The other hawk continued it's lazy circles till it went out of view.
And the world went on.

"Jesus was not radical. He is the epitome of normal. Our norm is so far from God that the norm of God in Christ Jesus seems radical."

I was reading Genesis 1 this morning. Every time I read those verses, I am in awe of how accurately and how quickly God finished each segment of creation that He made.
Today, it was this verse:
[glow=red,2,300](Genesis 1:11) And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.[/glow]
The plants around us are so very complex, and God made them in one day. Just amazing.

This morning out walking my dogs...the wind was howling thru the trees. I live in a forest with lots of tall old trees. The sound of the wind blowing thru them is beautiful and awesome.
When I hear it I always think of the day God told King David not to attack till he heard the wind in the tops of the Mulberry trees...
I can hear the warrior Angels marching in the wind.
"And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines. And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer. " 2 Samuel 5:22-25
Wind in the trees will always be the warrior angels marching before us...to me.

Something a friend said...good thought.
"Today is truly the first day of the rest of your life. Treat yourself like you are a new person. Forget all the mistakes of the past. Try not to repeat them. The days ahead can be great if you believe they will be. Keep God number one and you will be all right. Try it. Be blessed."

Reading in Luke about the temptation. Was reading in a commentary that the Mt of Quarantania might be one of the locations mentioned in Luke. Wanted to see what it looks like so went looking... Mt. of Temptation. 1910 Have wondered what that encounter was like...Jesus, led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit, near the end of a 40 day fast, and Satan the fallen archangel. It was a set-up...by the Holy Spirit. Satan never was any match for the Holy Spirit. Still isn't.

I've always believed that Resurrection Sunday would be a great day for the Lord to come back and get us . . . though Pentecost Sunday would also work!

- something to think on... "We MUST reorient our thinking, align it with God's, if there is any hope in lasting change. We MUST stop living on feelings. We MUST let truth inform our feelings, rather than letting feelings inform our decisions. Let TRUTH tell us how to feel!" Posted by a preacher friend on Facebook... Tim Bowes 04-09-12

Amen to that!
Faith is the engine that runs the train of our Christian life, feelings are the caboose. We feel good because we KNOW, and we KNOW because we have a more sure word of prophecy that tells us so. Ours is a KNOW-SO religion, not a hope so religion.
