Joel Rosenberg in his writings talks about the "visions and dreams" in the Muslim countries. I was going to ask the same question Duck.
Your last response Keith, I'm not understanding it.
Are you saying that what I experienced was not real.? That something like I told is not true for today?
My brother came to salvation, a victory for God, a defeat for satan. So when you say,and I believe it, that satan can put thoughts in our mind I have a hard time separating the 2.

If we were talking about some new revelation from God that would be one thing...there are no new revelations ... the Bible is our absolute authority in all things and is a completed work.
But we are talking about dreams and visions...as personal guidance in a Christian walk...
looks like two different things to me.

Have been reading about the dreams and visions that people are having in the Middle East...How would they fit in...they seem to be real visions real dreams... It's the Holy Spirit revealing Jesus to them, not a revelation of coming events... Your experience was real, your perception of it was incorrect. I think the subject was on your mind and you dreampt about it. Yes, he came to salvation, but if I read your comments correctly, not till much later and without your direct involvement. You witnessed by letter, not in person at the moment of his conversion. The difference is: If you'd had a vision seeing him come to Christ through that Pastor, that would be a revelation of a coming event, but the Spirit doesn't do that now.

Standing at the kitchen sink doing dishes is when I had this vision, so it was not something that I drembt. Middle of the day, on a Saturday afternoon, bright sunny day.

In light of what you said above (in yellow) let me share the other vision I had, which was the 1st of the 2.
In 1982 we were expected our 2nd child. About 6 months into the pregnancy the doctor told us there was a problem. Possible spina bifida or some other serious problem. We started to pray asking for Gods intervetnion. About a month before the due date, again awake in the early evening, I saw my wife and I standing at the altar of our church dedicating our new baby to the lord. Recognized our pastor and the layout of the chruch.
The baby that was born a month later died at birth. We were devistated. I questioned the Lord, why did you take me through this? All I could do was hang onto the vision.
6 Months later we were expecting again. To avoid details, same problem with the unborn baby, he also died at birth.
We said thats it, we are not going through this again. But thank God he was faithful and kept bringing to mind what I had seen.
almost 3 years after seeing my wife and I dedicating a new baby we had the honor to stand in our church 1 month after the birth of a perfectly healthy baby girl, and dedicate her to the Lord with grateful and thankful hearts that no one can imagine.
Call it what you want, a revelation or a vision, but what I experienced was of a coming event, in this case 3 years later.
To save pain and suffering for my wife and I, I assure you if it weren't for that vision my daughter would never have been brought into this world. Burying 2 sons was enough.

Sorry Bob, I thought I read you dreampt the first one, and as for the second, I don't know what to tell you accept there are no prophesyings today, the Bible's plain on that, so what you had I don't know.

I don't understand how you can bring the word Prophesying into this situation. In plain language I did not stand on a roof top and say: "Thus saith the Lord" or "Listen up people such and such is going to happen". It was personal, between God, me and my wife. I did not prophesy.

And so why I said: "...so what you had I don't know." It's OK Bob, I believe you, brother.

God bless you each so very much.
Thank you for sharing a very special testimony Brother Bob.
We know the Word of God is complete and no "Thus Sayeth the Lord" is the be received or given credence.
The events you envisioned or were visions were from the deepest recesses of your heart, at a time of most heart-wrenching trail and pain.
The Lord opened the precious heart of your Brother and brought him to the Cross, and what a precious reunion awaits.
The pain and agony you and your dear-one experienced, we can only imagine. The terrible loss of your two wee-ones, and then the most precious confirmation of that which you so fervently envisioned in the birth and confirmation of your precious daughter.
Did our Father minister to you hurting heart by granting a vision? Did He answer your most fervent prayers and deepest desires of the heart?
For now the Word says that we see through a glass darkly, but then we will know as we are known.
We honor your heart for Christ, and your precious walk of faith. You experienced a more than natural event, and we deeply appreciate your sharing. What you have experienced and shared in no way undermines sound doctrine, changes the absolute truth of God's word, nor has it been elevated above such.
The Lord will clarify when we stand before Him.

Amen to that Drew...what you have said is beautiful. Bob has become a good friend and special brother to me. His testimony was so touching and shows his faith and trust in the Lord...and his love for Jesus and for his family. Blessed are the peacemakers Drew...
