About a week ago Deborah and Stover...2 old friends whom I worked with for many years, were having dinner at a local resturant. Deborah suddenly became very sick. They ended up in the emergency room and it was discovered that Deborah had a brain tumor.
She had had a battle with cancer a few years ago and beat it and Stover has just come home from Duke hospital after surgery, also battling cancer.
While at the emergency because Deborah was having chest pains and she was given asprin...so they couldn't operate right away at Duke and remove the tumor. But the Surgery has now been scheduled for March 21st.
Both Deborah and Stover are Christian.
Deborah was being so brave but this morning she posted this on FB...
"I feel the need to tell you how I feel. I don't understand why things are happening like they are now but I know that God is not surprised by any of it. He knows what is happening and knows what will happen. I am praying for God's Will in my life. I ask that He take away the brain tumor and don't let it be cancer. That is according to His Will. I also pray that He gives me peace and comfort to go through this. Please pray for me and my family. This is hard on them also. My greatest desire is that you, my friends, see Christ in me. I desire for you to accept Christ as your personal Savior and give Him your life. I am happy to know that if His Will is that I do not make it through this, I will spend eternity in Heaven where I hope to see you one day. Love to you my friends. Thank you for being here for me and my family. Lord willing, we will spend more time together in the future."
Knowing Deborah, I can read the fear in her post...please pray for my friends.
Also asking ya'll to give me any Bible passages that have calmed your fears in the past...I have posted one that has always helped me but I know ya'll also have favorites...
Please share them with me so I can pass them on the Deborah and Stover.
Deborah is a retired General District Court Clerk and Stover is a retired State Trooper.
Thank you all...have been praying for them since I heard the bad news... we all know and trust the power of prayer ...
Please join me in prayer for my friends.

May the Lord see to all the needs and concerns of your friends, Marilyn, according to His will, and provide comfort during trial as only He can, in Jesus' Name, amen.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phillipians 4:7)

That is a truly blessed testimony, and a blessing to get to share. It is good to see that she is committed to God's will, and would that it be that she gets better in this life.

Lifting up in my heart and most fervent prayer in agreement.
Dear Heavenly Father please envelope these precious ones with Your love, draw them near, hold them close, and please move and minister in every area of need, in Jesus' name. Dear Abba, Father we pray for Your miracle touch of healing, that all sickness, disease, cancer, and infirmity would be gone, and our Sister Deborah would be healed and fully restored, in the name of Jesus. We pray for wisdom for the doctors and caregivers, and that You would grant comfort, Your peace which passes all of our human understanding to just flood through every heart involved, and that You would endow with strength and an ever deepening measure of faith and absolute trust in You through the days ahead. We place these precious ones into Your Hand and into Your eternal love for Your precious children, that all needs and concerns would be met and resolved according to Your perfect will, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray. Thank You Abba, Father for all You do and for all that You are.

I have shared your prayer request on a couple of other prayer forums, so that other prayer warriors might join in our petitions.
My heart and my tears are right with you and these precious ones, Sis. I am so very sorry they are going through this.

Praying hard for my friend today. Going thru surgery for a tumor in her brain. Praying for her husband, and family, and for the surgeon and nurses, and other medical staff involved. Deborah is the first person I thought about this morning...and Stover, her husband, the second...praying for the Lord's will and that it will be good news by the end of the day! In Jesus Name, Amen.

Stover, Deborah's husband, posted this on FB...
"Deborah's surgery is over. 6 hours. Doctor said he was sure they got all of the tumor. It turned out to be larger than anticipated. (Deeper) in the brain. She will have another mri tonight. She did very well through surgery. Just waiting to go in and see her. Keep praying."

update...after the surgery Deborah had a stroke which sometimes happens with this kind of surgery. She is progressing slowly and her doctor says he thinks there will be a full recovery from both the surgery and the stroke...
Duke hospital has top flight Doctors and medical staff...
Please keep Deborah, Stover, and family, and the medical staff at Duke in your prayers...
Thanks.

Found out today that the brain tumor was malignant. Deborah has about 12 months. She is doing the cancer treatments...
What will happen over time is that she will sleep more and more till one day she goes to sleep and doesn't wake up...
coma will get deeper and deeper and then she wakes up in Heaven...
Please keep Deborah, and Stover, and their family in your prayers...
