The Bible is silent on how Saul, soon to be Paul, was traveling the 150+ miles from Jerusalem to Damascus.

Saul, and the men with him was walking, here's two reasons why I think so:
"And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus." (Acts 9:8)
1. When Saul collapsed, the men with him 'stood' speechless, then
2. They "led him by the hand" on into Damascus. Hard to do on horseback.
I actually could have chosen either answer than 'Yes'....

I almost chose "no", but I can't imagine someone as important as Saul walking the long distance from Jerusalem to Damascus. But then, I think it would be rather expensive to have everyone who was with Saul at the time to have individual transportation so they all may very well have walked. Probably some walked and some rode.

I had always pictured Paul and the men with him walking...however on thinking about it,
Damascus was a good distance from Jerusalem. Paul probably wanted to travel fast to keep the element of suprise. He was also fairly important...the darling boy sort of...He was also anxious to continue the persecution and go after the Christians. All that seems to point to Paul on horseback.
But whether Paul rode or walked...the Lord sure knocked him off his "high horse"...didn't He?
just like He has so many of us...

Good stuff. It talks about him going into several foreign cities prior to the Damascus road. He was also going there to arrest and return to Jerusalem. Its about a weeks journey on horseback so I would imagine either that or with a caravan.
Acts 23 also mentions that they mounted to provide protection for Paul from the Jews.

Probably some walked and some rode. It's a little known fact that the "Horse rental" business was very big in Jerusalem. Plus, with Paul being a Pharisee he took advantage of the Pharisee Discount offered by the company. So, I don't think it was to expensive

"Horse rental"! I never thought of that. It makes a lot of sense, though; my Dad always calls horses "hay-burners" because of the expense of their upkeep. He still keeps at least two of them around because they are so useful handling the cattle.
