God bless you;
My father-in-law has gotten very weak and frail. He is in a rest home and they have placed him on oxygen. They are calling in hospice and Jan and her sister and brother are going to make a quicker trip out to Arizona then they had planned. They had thought to bring Dad back with them and were going the end of next week. Jan's younger brother is there but it is very difficult to communicate long distance. Mom passed away a year ago last Dec. and Dad was very frail back then.
May our Father hold all in His hand, envelope with His awesome love, and lead through the days ahead. May He deepen the faith of all concerned, and may those who are lost open their eyes and hearts to the glory of Calvary and to the open arms of our Precious Lord. Guide, lead and protect us O Lord according to Your perfect will and eternal love for Your precious children. In Jesus' name.

Amen. It is hard saying goodbye to people we love, even tho we know it is for just a little while. Still it is a sad time.

God bless you, your hearts and prayers such a blessing;
My wife Jan, son Rob, granddaughter Bethany, will be driving our car, and sister-in-law Deb, her granddaughter Paige, and brother-in-law Dan will be driving Deb's pu to Arizona tomorrow. 21 hours driving time, and about 1100+ miles.
Could sure use some hearts and prayers as they go out to see about bringing my father-in-law home or seeing about more care. We had a special prayer time just for their journey, at church tonight.
They will know more about his status when they arrive.

God bless you so much;
Just talked to Jan last night and they made it through safely. Blowing sandstorms in the desert, and they closed I-40 right after they had gone through. Then it was snowing when they got to Kingman, AZ.
Thank You Father for watching over these precious ones. May You guide them and grant wisdom and insight through the days ahead, and bring them home safely according to Your perfect will and eternal love for Your precious children. In Jesus' name.
Dad is doing better than we had thought, as he is able to be in a wheel chair and wheeled down to the table. They will meet with hospice on Friday, and be making some decisions. He is weak but feisty.

This is an update on April 19:
God bless you so much;
This was posted as an update by my SIL, Deb, on the family site:
" Hi All! We had a meeting with the social worker and the Hospice lady yesterday. We want you all to know that Dad has COPD and it is bringing him down. We can not understand what he is saying and he is pretty weak. The good thing is that they did say that possibly he would be able to travel if it was by plane. We have an appointment with the doctor on Mon. at 2. It is very heart breaking to see him at the condition he is in in such a short time as Mike has said he was just fine 2 weeks ago. we are not happy with that nursing home as he has fell at least 2 times in there, popped his hip out once and they didn't take him to hospital till next morning even with him saying he knew it was out and he was in pain. Another time the day before we got here he fell out of his wheelchair and has the blackest eye. We asked them why this happened knowing he has a fall risk braclet on so that should mean someone should be with him when he is in the wheelcahir. Since they are the ones that said he could not be left alone. they popped his hip out by them putting him in bed. I don't know what for sure is going to happen but we are trying our best to get him home.However after our meeting he now has a new bed lower to the floor and an alarm system on it. If it is possible to bring him home on an airpalne Misty is willing to travel out here and be with him for the travel back home. Thank you Misty! And Thank you all for your prayers and concerns!! Love ya!"

After talking to my wife Jan this noon hour:
They took Dad to the lung doctor this morning. He was wheeling his own wheelchair, his O2 was at 98%, and the doctor said that there was no reason he could not fly back to Kansas. Dad said, "Get me out of Arizona and take me home!!!!".
My niece,(who is a nurse) and other SIL are flying in this evening and Dad will be flying home with my niece on Saturday.
Jan and all will be driving home on Saturday, and should get home on Monday.
This is a true answer to prayer.
May our Father continue to hold them in His hand and bring them home safely.

I can understand your father in law's desire to go home and am so glad for him that he is coming home. As strange as it sounds I think we all feel better at home when we don't feel good... I am gettin' old so I get to say strange things... Will keep all in my prayers.
