James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
If I may, seeing this is a new forum,...a new front if you will, we need to be espically on guard. The devil will waste no time trying to wipe out the work you want to accomplish here. He WILL send the very hordes of hell against this place, but just remember the above verse. Don't look at it as a fight with God on our side, backing us up all the way, or this will fail. We are his servants, He doesn't stand behind us, we are behind him, in submission. Asking Him to go before us to vanquish our foes. Remember, when He delivered the land to Israel, He went before them, in many different forms....but..they still had to fight. Thats what is meant by resist the devil, to literally fight him, but after our Lord has prepared the way! Then & only then this board will be a success to His Honor & Glory. From what I've seen most, if not all of you here so far have experince on other boards, so I'm sure you've seen a hint at least of what I'm talking about. We tend to forget how crafty ole slewfoot is, & we tend at times to let our emotions lead instead of Christ. Just be as our Lord taught, wise as serpents, harmless as doves.

Amen Preacher! We need to be vigilant at all times, it is when we drop our guard the enemy makes his move. The devil may try and wipe out the work accomplished here, but I believe that we as the body of Christ can prevent this if we work in accordance.
God Bless!

Christian or not, you're going to have trials and tribulations of all kinds with evil influences trying to enter your life. Just take a look at Job's life. God allowed Satan to do every physical thing he wanted to try to make Job lose his faith. Job starts out in the book of Job being a very wealthy person with seven sons and a large farm. Satan causes him to lose both of his sons, his house, his farm, all but a couple of his servants, and even his health. Job's wife told him to curse God and die. Two friends of his hear about this and travel to see him, wanting to help and cheer him up. When Job's friends arrive, they don't even recognize Job because of how beat up he was. Then they accused Job of having unconfessed sin in his live that brought on the tribulations. Although Job obviously wasn't too happy about all that had happened to him, yet he still held onto his faith in God. All things are possible through Christ Jesus. Through Him, mountains can be moved. I'm know that God can assist in all ways to prevent Satan from entering into your life. As James says, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7). Just remember this one thing, that God does answer prayer. Prayer is the way God has provided for us to have a one-on-one conversation with Christ Jesus, bringing us into a close and intimate relationship with Himself, our true God and Savior. Through Christ, All things are possible.

Thinking of Job reminds me of an interesting question. Job lost everything because Satan declared before the universe that the only reason Job loved and served the Lord is because God gave him everything...so God let satan touch Job...twice... He lost all his flocks...his home...his servants and his wealth...his prominance and presteige...and finally his health but yet he did not curse God to His face as satan thought he would...just like Dave said in his post... But in the end God restored everything twice over...Job had twice as many sheep, camels, a***s, and so forth... Job started out with 7 sons and 3 daughters. In the end we see he had 7 sons and 3 daughters...Did God or did He not restore to Job his children as He did the rest of what Job lost? Can ya'll answer that one?...

Sorry hon ya lost yer job, But, Happy ya got one now! I lost my job for a Reason, I didn't know I had two badly ruptured disks in my back, I only knew of one in my neck at C5-C6, the fourth MRI showed one that is really bad at L4-L5 in my lower back thats pressing on two sides of my spinal cord with not enough room for the nerves to go through. I am a paraplegic in a wheelchair.. A Good Christian Doctor I know, she told me I would be worse off if I didn't loose my job. I could have been a quad, Thank God He Protected me!! God Always has a Plan for our Lives, its only if We Listen to Him!Love in Christ, YSIC \o/ Kristi Ann

I will tell you Kristi, 'tween you and me. One of the most beautiful and touching things I have seen was my friend dancing with his wife in that wheel chair. It was hard not to cry...

Good Question Duck, but don't know an answer other than Job NAMED tha 3 daughters, which would tend to make one think they were "new" daughters. But even that isn't proof enough to show either way, less ya know something I don't,.....or have forgotten!! Oh, & something that should have been in my opening post that tha Lord reminded me of today, When He is speaking of submitting to God...He means the Trinity, not just the Father.

Much love, Duck... awe, thanks so much for understanding ♥ Sister! ♥ I was also hit very hard T-Boned into my 1985 Honda Civic, the lady whom hit me was doing 40mph in a Posted 25mph zone in downtown Portland Oregon in 2001. I have two manual Wheelchairs, and I am afraid of doing wheelies.. With the Neck brace I have to wear, it is ridged and don't let my neck turn at all. I have had Four of Five MRIs on my neck and Lower back in the last three years. But, Praise Jesus Christ I am Alive and able to Type this with my hands. I still have my arms movement! I know this one... God does not lie, Job has twice as many sons and daughters. His sons and daughters he lost are were not lost. The 7 sons and 3 daughters were with the Lord. Then God restores him with 7 more sons and 3 more daughters, so when we all get together he will have his 14 sons and 6 daughters... ;D
Love in Christ, Nita
Duck, you need to start a thread with the Bible riddles you use to do..

Don't feel bad Preacher. Took me a while to figure it out. Nita is always good at the pop quizzes. Maybe I will start that thread. Gonna put on my thinkin' cap and see what I can do... and btw...Nita is right. Job had 10 children in Heaven and the Lord gave him 10 more. Total of 20.
