What is your Favorite Scripture and Why?
Mines is Jeremiah 11:29-13
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 11:29-13)
This is my favorite scripture because I was once a lost sinner on my way to to be condemned. Then came a time when I prayed unto the Lord and received His forgiveness and Grace. I then sought out the Lord with all my Heart and now I have found Him, and the joy of knowing Him is indescribable with words.
God Bless!

I've always identified with David because of this one verse. Even as a small child, before I received my Lord Jesus, I've always felt His presence and knew He was there. I cherish memories of those innocent times with Him, and love Him even more now... [glow=red,5,300]"For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth." (Psalms 71:5 KJV)[/glow]

"This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD." Lamentations 3:21-26
A while back when going thru a rough time this passage was the only peace I could find. It is the only passage underlined in my Bible and I have read it so often my Bible now falls open to it. It is tear stained and blood stained and such a great source of comfort and hope...His mercies are new every morning...Great is His faithfulness...when sitting in the back of our caves, with our mantle over our head we can always see a warm light glowing in the dark. For me, it is coming from Him in that passage...
Amen?

Great topic, thanks for posting it..
I have a few. This first one made me realize that I don't know anything. Job 38:4 "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
This one, made me realize...Psalms 51:4 "Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight:, that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest."
And this one. Was my first verse that I kept mulling it over in my head. This was back when I had first accepted Christ as my savior. I read it and wasn't understanding what it meant. I kept reading it and thinking about it and couldn't figure it out. Then one morning while I was taking my morning shower, it hit me.. I was washing the outside of my body, but the inside wasn't clean... I got so excited cause I knew right then and there that the Holy Spirit was speaking to me.. Matthew 23:26 "Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also."
Love in Christ, Nita

Mine is below;
1 AND as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. 4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. ( John 9:1-5 KJV 1611 AV )
Above is for me because of my Defect Birth!

The first from 1 Peter guides me daily. The second scripture contains the most comforting words and promise and image in all of the Bible, imho. I think I especially love that one because I know my most beloved friend has found comfort in it time and time again when trials were the greatest ... I am so grateful for the many gifts the Lord gives to us.
Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
----------
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

John 4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
This is THE verse that let me know Christ loved me, & wanted ME! Dirty, Rotten, ....no words we can use are bad enough to really describe, but He wanted ME! In the KJV the word "he" is in italics,...meaning it was added by the translators. Don't bother me a bit...but I take it as ORIGINAL,..I that speak unto thee am! Christ is the GREAT I AM..... I AM able to save to the uttermost,...I AM the beginning,....I AM the First & the Last, & what He has spoken to all of us...I AM the ONE who loves you...who wants you to be with ME throughout eternity, I AM the ONE who does & will LOVE You unconditonally, who will ALWAYS be there for you,...even when you're not there for your self!! He was the ONE that spoke to me that night so many years ago, & He still speaks...even when I don't...Oh Thank You Lord for your tender Heart & Mercies!!

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This scripture still blows my mind and touches my heart, that God could love me and you sooooo much. Knowing that I don't deserve such love, yet He gave it freely, and prepared us an eternal place with Him. The love of the world often lets us down, but God's love never will. This scripture makes the life struggles here on earth easier to live with. To know one day we will be with Him!!! Amen!!

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Galatians 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another and I also LOVE THE ONE YOU POST and I LOVE NUMBERS also ...Numbers 6:24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: Numbers 6:25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: Numbers 6:26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Numbers 6:27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

Luke 22:61
And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the rooster crows, thou shalt deny me thrice.
Luke 22:62
And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
These two verses can make my knees buckle when I think of the times I have been like Peter. I've tried many times to imagine what that "LOOK" of Jesus must have been like for Peter. Peter, one of the twelve who spent so much time with the Master, and he could still deny him.
But Peter was restored through the Love and Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Peter had the chance to stand face to face with the Lord and acknowledge that He was the Christ, the Son of the living God.

What a great thread. Of course I don't have just one but many passages speak to my heart.
Col 1:19 For it pleased [the Father] that in him should all fullness dwell;
Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, , whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven.
Col 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in [your] mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
Col 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
That He died so that I could be presented holy, unblameable and unreproveable!! It still is almost incomprehensible to me that such as I could be the recipient of such a gift! I am so unworthy and yet He loves me, what an incredible, incredible thing. I sometimes am just struck dumb by the enormity of it.
