So, a while back I asked for prayer for my brother. He was going to have to go to court.
I haven't mentioned it again because things have been so up in the air, and truthfully, I have mixed emotions about requesting prayer.
But,here goes. He has not handled mom's death well at all, they were on the outs when she died. (She has been gone a year last August.) July of last year he pulled out of his driveway to go 2 miles to get a gallon of milk. He had a car accident, literally, 50 ft out of his driveway. A car topped the hill in his lane of traffic, he gassed his 4x4 to go for the ditch on the other side. They hit head on passenger side to passenger side. The passenger in the car he hit, did not have a seat belt on, and was taken by air evac to Columbia. She had serious but not life threatening injuries. There was a baby in the back seat, no injuries. The driver, and my brother were both treated for minor injuries. Here is where it gets bad.
My brother had "a few beers" while he was cutting grass. He didn't pass the breathealyzer.
So, he is 100 % at fault and has said from the beginning, "I should have never got in the car to drive." He says he had 3-4 beers, I don't know.
This is his first offense, the prosecuting attorney is NOT willing to make any kind of plea deal. So, his lawyer told him his best bet was to plead guilty on all charges and waive his right to a trial. The lawyer said he will probably serve time. His sentencing is May 3rd.
This is killing me. He is the only sibling that I have and basically the only family that I have, outside of my immediate family. Gene, and my children, and Gwen.
Please remember us in prayer. I am at a loss how to even pray about this.
Through it all, he has FINALLY given his heart to the Lord, is in some counseling, and is on anti depressant meds. I am thankful for that. He has needed help for a long time.
I have hesitated to ask for prayer because of it involving alcohol.
Thank you for listening and I would appreciate your prayers.
