Name the things we are thankful for in this dark hour. There is so much that is obvious. We are thankful for Jesus and Salvation...
We are thankful that we are Christians and our destination is sure...as sure as our salvation.
But what else?
Name things you are thankful for...

I am thankful that my children are all working, considered essential.
Am thankful for an opportunity to stay home and enjoy spring time at Danview, my home in the deep woods.
Am thankful for This Forum...keeps me busy and gives me a way to contribute in a small way.
So how about all of you? What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful for the slower pace people are being forced into for a time - I think it's renewing some family bonds and reorienting priorities.
I am thankful for all the means we have to keep in touch; my mother is in a nursing home under quarantine but she can text and receive email messages. My kids and siblings are daily chattering about recipes and games and things going on in their neck o' the woods.
I am thankful for the zillion moments God has led me to be more still & quiet in the last 15 years or so; staying at home isn't stressful for me now like it would have been.
I'm thankful for the tulips & daffodils poking out of the ground. They are not close to flowering yet, but they are green and offer hope.
I LOVE threads like this; "gratitude" is a huge lift to the heart!

Thankful today for the internet...going to church on-line isn't the same as being in the church building shoulder to shoulder with other Christians,
But...am right now listening to our Pastor give a wiz bang sermon on line.
So...I am thankful for the internet. It is Sunday and I can hear a sermon and know others in my church are listening to the same sermon at the same time...probably a good number us us still in our PJs.

Thankful for the Dogwoods blooming everywhere down in the deep woods around my home and in my yard.
There is a legend that the Cross was made from a Dogwood tree. From that day on the Dogwood was no longer a tall huge tree...but shorter and its blooms are in the shape of a Cross...with stains that look like nail holes.
A reminder of Jesus and His sacrifice...

Am thankful for the smells of spring, fresh cut grass, the holly tree blooms, the wisteria...the smells of springtime are in the air with all the pollen.
And my holly tree is full of bees and monarch butterflies!

Thankful for my daughter who is making store runs for me. Yesterday it was Tractor Supply and food for my dogs...Saturday Auldies for food for me.
Many of us older Americans are depending on people for help...It is hard because we are not used to being dependent on people...we do it ourselves till we can't stand any more.
So I am thankful for my daughter.

Thankful for Humming Birds...put my feeders out the other day and am watching for the first to arrive.
Years ago was sitting on my back deck reading from Revelation 1 and got to verse 15 and read, "and his voice as the sound of many waters."
I stopped and was wondering what the Lord's voice is going to sound like when I actually am standing in front of Him and hear it.
About that time I heard a loud humming and looked to see what it was. Around the corner of the deck came a Humming Bird...and he stopped and hovered about 3 feet from my head. I heard a pleasant and sweet humming sound...as he hovered there.
He hovered for a long while and I thanked the Lord for letting me listen to the sound of his voice...
Since then I have loaded my deck with humming bird feeders and they fly to and fro like a traffic jam...flitting here and there past your head to eat. A friend said one day that you almost need a football helmet to sit on my deck...
To me it is the Lord's voice with wings!
So today I am thankful for Humming Birds.

Thankful for the lessons I am learning and relearning.
Make do, repair it, reuse it up and reuse it...
Learning not to be wasteful. I am realizing how spoiled I have become with our lifestyle in the United States...we are so used to having a plenty.
Am learning to be frugile...and not wasteful.
Even have a drawer with pieces of tin foil...to reuse.
It is a good lesson and I am thankful for it.

Thankful for my two best buddies, a Golden Retriever named Preacher Murphy, and a Labrador Retriever named James Fennimore Cooper...
They keep me on a schedule, they keep me what passes for sane...and they keep me in an endless supply of unconditional love. They are my best friends!
It is a reminder of the kind of Love the Lord has for us...it is unconditional.

Thankful for my trusty ole Bible...my KJ. I sometimes catch some flack for being so attached to the KJV...but I sluff it off. You use whatever "perversion" you like... I am going to stick to Schofield's...Study Bible, KJV with big print. I am thankful for it and thankful for the peaceful feeling I get when I am reading and studying. It is my safe place, a happy place. Not everything we read about is happy but it is a place where I feel safe in the storm... Read long ago about a little bird trying to fly in a storm. It finally found a hollow in a rock cliff. The storm raged all around the little bird but the wind couldn't reach the bird and not a feather was rustled. That is how I feel when I am in the hollow in that rock cliff, in my Bible, safe in my Father's words...

I think this is maybe the prettiest spring I have seen in a long time. Or maybe I have just slowed down enough to notice it.
All the colors and smells are so wonderful. Even the animals seem happier...
Heard owls down on the river calling to each other so I think the trees will have plenty of owls this year.
Saw my first Hummingbird yesterday...
Am thankful for a season to enjoy the spring.

Thankful for wisteria...it is in full bloom. Looks like somebody took a bucket of lavender and purple paint and poured it all over the trees. 'Course we all know Who did that...

Today I am thankful for the people on the front lines...medical, truckers, maintenance staff, housekeeping staff, mailmen and women, and so many others...everyone who is out there on the front lines making sure things get done in this scary world.
We all need to remember them all and keep them constantly in our prayers!

Thankful for a little vegetable stand not far from my house...they take my order on line, they gather the things on my list, they bring it out to my car and load it...and off I go.
Thanks to them I don't have to go to a grocery store and I am eating fresh fruits and veggies! They even have meats...so I am literally eating high off the hog!
So I am very very very thankful for Reeses' Produce Stand and their wonderful farm!
I pray the Lord will keep them safe and well.
