"And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer." (Revelation 6:2 KJV)Look to the top left of where it says "Russia Saint Petersburg 2006" and notice the official logo of the G8 Summit 2006: A rider on a white horse atop an ocean wave: A closer look: Here's a close-up of the image, in reverse color, that appears on this year's G8 Official Site: And NO, I am NOT saying one of the members of the G8 is possibly the Antichrist, for the Church is to be on watch only for Christ. I'm saying that events are quickly unfolding that will lead to his rise, and this is simply another sign from Matthew 24 the Lord commands us to watch for to tell us our redemption draws near. What your saying sounds very plausible to me Keith, I too believe that this is an early sign of the rise of the Antichrist into politcal power, whoever it may be.
God Bless!

Amazing! It is amazing how many shadows we are seeing. Shadows of the things to come. The shout, the noise of a thundering summons, "Come!" The thunder of hoofs is heard. The first of 4 horses and riders appears. The horse is a symbol for war, and white, the color of the horse, suggest to us that the rider will win a victory without bloodshed. He, the rider, has a bow but no arrows...again signifying not a shot will be fired. What would bring the world to that point might be the world on the brink of all out war. That would open the door for someone with a peace plan to step in and take over. What would ready the world for it to come to that point? "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition" 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (I got it right Caretaker... ) And "... for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie..." 2 Thessalonians 2:11 but first "only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way." 2 Thessalonians 2:7 And if the Holy Spirit is removed won't that mean the Church is also gone? Least that is what I have always thought...am I seeing that right? When the Holy Spirit and Church is gone, the world will tumble rapidly into great sin. God will send a strong delusion so they will believe anything...kind of the opposite of the delusion sent to the Jew after they rejected Christ. They wouldn't believe and the coming delusion will cause people to believe what ever...The Anti-Christ figure will then be free to offer his "peace plan" and things will appear to go just fine for awhile... Till the next summons to "Come!" which heralds the appearence of the next horse...a red one. Haven't studied the prophecies in a long while...am kinda rusty but am enjoying getting re-acquainted. Thanks! Duck

Take note that the Antichrist and his ten nation confederacy spoken of in Revelation 12:1-2 rises out of "the sea", speaking of the Gentile nations.
What's interesting is the rider on the horse above is perched atop a wave breaking on the sea. Why the G8 chose this image for this year's logo is known only to them...and the Lord.
In addition, there is talk among the G8 to increase their membership to 13, but not all members are in agreement. It should not surprise us, who are watching for the Lord's soon appearing, that if the G8 is increased to only ten the way for the Antichrist's seat of power is being formed.
Considering the concurrent signs we're seeing spoken of by our Lord Himself (Matthew 24), we should all be looking toward the sky...
"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28 KJV)

Dear Brother Keith: The White Horse is symbolic and significant. It would refer to the Lord Jesus Christ riding in victory in the penultimate consumation of all global affairs when he has trampled Satan and the kingdoms of this world. However, this icon has a different intrepretation as you rightly pointed out. This has perhaps two meanings or implications: a) The assertion of the G8 and more so to ride truimphant--which they would not acheive, because Russia and its Magog confederacy would have their final destruction in the Gog-Magog invasion of the Holy Land; b) The Europeans under the Western Confederacy of the Anti-Christ would also face defeat as mentioned in the prophecies in their attempts to meddle with Israel. The Lord would indeed destroy the Anti-Christ by the breath of his mouth II Thess 2:8 So the icon of the White Horse is an imitation or an attempt to duplicate truimph which these powers would not acheive. Thats my reading.

Shalom brother Lawrence,
Yes, the evil one enjoys imitating our Lord, which is why the white horse rider of Revelation 6:2 is Antichrist, not Christ. The crown on this rider's head is the 'stephanos' (Greek #4735), or wreath of green such as worn by Olympic participants of old...not the 'diadem' (Greek #1238) worn by our Lord at His return (Revelation 9:12).

Hello Lawerence and Welcome!
It has been a while since I spent time studying the prophecies but as I remember, some say that the white horse and rider in Revelation 6 is both literal and symbolic.
On the literal side we have already covered the two indetifications that people ascribe to the rider, one being the antichrist, and one the Lord Jesus.
On the symbolistic side, those who say the rider is not a person, but a personification make that claim because Holy Spirit Himself interperts the symbolism of the 4th horseman as death, and Hades follows hard on his heels. Obviously not a person.
Other people say the rider represents the Gospel, and its power and goals, in other words the peaceful conquest of the earth.
I think it is probably meant to be both figurative and literal. The rider on the white horse is literally meant to represent the antichrist wearing a crown of victory not the crown of a king. The laurel crown will fade and rot away, but the Crowns of the Lord of Lords, our Lord Jesus, never will.
But he may well in addition represent the philisophecies of this world. It is those anti-Christian ideologies that will prepare men's minds for the devil's gospel and the strong delusion that is coming from God that men should believe a lie, 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12
Now remembering that satan also reads the Bible, how much ya want to bet he has read Revelation 19:11-16.
Interesting topic. Thanks.
