The European Union has created a 'super office' through EU Recommendation #666. This office gives special powers to the WEU Secretary General and CFSP High Representative, enabling him to take control of political and military councils in the event of an emergency. The WEU is the military arm of the European Union. Javier Solana currently holds this new office in an 'unofficial' capacity. Mr. Solana is attempting to begin a European Neighborhood Policy over the entire European and Mediterranean area. This policy is to be implemented for period of seven years, from January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2013. All participating nations will have their agreements confirmed on January 1, 2007 and sixteen nations have already signed on to be participants, including Israel. "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week [seven years] ..." (Daniel 9:27a KJV)[/b] Part of the EU’s seven-year plans will be directed at what is called 'thematic strategies'. Among these strategies will include an action plan geared at bringing the participating nations in line with EU standards on animal welfare. The date the animal welfare standards are to be established is 2010, which happens to coincide with the middle of the seven year period of the European Neighborhood Policy, or in other words, three and one half years after its implementation. "...and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease..." (Daniel 9:27b KJV)(Note: No, I don't believe Javier Solana is the Antichrist, but rather he currently holds the office from which the Antichrist will utilize his authority - Keith)

I'm sorry, maybe I need to have what's in those links explained to me real real slow. I'm not very good at deciphering official language.

No need to apologize Sybaelle. It all comes down to this: Our Almighty God is fulfilling His plan for our eternity!

I agree brother Keifer, the world ain't seen nothing yet! We can literally see prophecy being unfolded in front of our very eyes as these events signal the nearness of our Lord's return (at the doors). Even non-christians at my work somehow agree that we are living in the very last days. God Bless!

By PAUL HAVEN, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 31 minutes ago MADRID, Spain - Europe, with its long and often unhappy history in the Middle East, may be drawn into a big role in the proposed multinational force for south Lebanon. But with troops already stretched from Afghanistan to Congo, Europeans are hardly clamoring for another Mideast entanglement. Along with the promise of a stronger European military profile, any involvement in the fight between Israel and Hezbollah militants holds the danger of a blow to the continent's credibility. Italy, Germany, Ireland, France and Turkey have said they are considering joining a U.N.-run multinational force. Britain and the Netherlands appear unenthusiastic. Foreign ministers from across the continent will discuss their options next week at a hastily arranged gathering in Brussels, Belgium. here is the link to the rest of the article: click hereTick, tick, tick. I guess I am a little confused on the whole "animal welfare" thing---what is the general consensus here?

I guess I am a little confused on the whole "animal welfare" thing---what is the general consensus here? 1st 3 1/2 yrs Israel is protected, animal sacrifices allowed. The breaking of the covenent after this time sacrifices are not allowed. This EU thing is showing timing, in a prophetic sense, and concern for animal welfare and rights. The EU site in regards to animal rights is not an easy read. But the dates given are very specific.

Correct Bob. You see Kat, the EU will have an 'animal rights' policy in place to stop sacrifices in the Temple, precisely three and one-half years proceding the covenant (Neighborhood Policy). Exactly what is prophesied in Daniel 9:27.
