Correct Bob. You see Kat, the EU will have an 'animal rights' policy in place to stop sacrifices in the Temple, precisely three and one-half years proceding the covenant (Neighborhood Policy). Exactly what is prophesied in Daniel 9:27. Considering the enormous sacrifice Jesus made, wouldn't the greatest abomination be re-starting animal sacrifices? I'm asking in sincerity here -- please don't attack me.

Considering the enormous sacrifice Jesus made, wouldn't the greatest abomination be re-starting animal sacrifices? For the Jews, no. Not believing in Jesus as their Messiah, they do not accept His atonement. Not being allowed to perform their services on the Mount, Zola Levitt Ministries filmed an animal sacrifice the Jews held close to the Temple Mount just last year. *Edited to add*You can read more about efforts to rebuild the Temple and the current events held at The Temple Institute. *Edited again to add*Read this carefully Lori to understand the sequence: "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." (Daniel 9:27 KJV)There are three separate events that take place in the above verse: 1. The covenant is made: "he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week"2. The sacrifices and meat offerings are stopped: "in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease"3. The Temple is desecrated: "for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate"The EU now has in place the means to achieve covenant (Neighborhood Policy), which Israel has already signed on as a participant, and their 'animal rights' article which could be used to stop Temple sacrifice. Everything that's necessary to carry out Daniel 9:27 is in place.

In one of the books from the LB series, Jenkins had the anti-christ riding a PIG into the temple after the covenant was broken. To most Jews this would be the ultimate in desecration and insult. Tie that into the EU animal rights position and you can possibly see a correlation.
What doe oblation mean in Dan 9:27?

What doe oblation mean in Dan 9:27? "Oblation" - Greek (minchah) - meat offering. The Antichrist stops the sacrifices and the tributes (meat offerings).
