Thoughts On The Current Conflict

What are your thoughts on the current escalation of violence in the Middle East? Is this nothing more than another birth pain which will subside, a pre-emptive warning that the Rapture may be near, or the beginning of the lead-up to World War 3 and Armageddon?

Dear Keith: Shalom !. The present conflict from the point of our spiritual insight and strategic assessment would indicate the following:
a) The escalation spiral to a prolonged conflict has set in stage--three alliances have formed against Israel
i) Hamas-Hizbullah violent non-state actors suicidal objectives;
ii) The Shia axis of Iran-Syria state actors;
iii) The Russia-China axis against the United States.
This is the battle array. I dont know whether the White House and the State Dept realises this, but this is the order. The G-8 summitry at St Petersberg is only a superficiality. The Russian-China axis against the US has already set;

b) The Europeans are now shedding off their masquerades as they prepare to receive their "Satanic Superman". This would soon be revealed as the steps to the Brussels conspiracy -The Anti-Christ begins;

c) Israel would have to decisively move in the light of the circumtances. Caught in a two-pronged war. This could lead to the gradual increase in the momentum of conflict when the prophecies of Jeremiah 49:23-27 <http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Jer%2049:23-27;&version=50;> would be fulfilled.
Well, if that is going to be around the corner; then the Countdown to Rapture is pretty soon.

Shalom brother Lawrence,

Yes, with Iran supplying Hezbollah monetarily and with arms, and Russia supplying Iran with nuclear technology, is easy to see the End Time coalitions being formed.

It's now believed that Iranian soldiers(?), not Hezbollah, fired at Haifa, Israel yesterday from Lebanon. This is Ahmahdinejad's effort to drag the US into the conflict.

The former US envoy to the Middle East was asked yesterday on Fox News what he thought of the escalation. He said he thought is was "almost at the point of no return."

And as I stated yesterday, this could be the time God has chosen to fulfill His prophecy of Damascus becoming a ruinous heap, which could end up becoming a phenomenal witnessing tool for the Church, providing we're still here to see it...

Israel is now fighting on 2 fronts, the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. How do ya'll see Damascus coming into play now? I have been submerged in work and only get to catch the major headlines. Please 'splain...

Also, is the US contemplating getting involved? Has there been a move in that direction? I understand the President is having a private dinner with Putin this evening...I call him Put Put...would like to be a fly on the wall at that dinner.

Forgot to add...I now catch my self listening...I keep wondering what the trumpet will sound like and the voice from Heaven...

US faces dilemma in Mid-East crisis

Is there anything the US can do to put out the flames?
Israel is America's ally. When Israeli troops are captured by Hezbollah, the immediate sympathies of the United States lie with Israel.

President George W Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert both say that they're fighting a war on terror.

They have common enemies - radical Islamic extremists willing to use violence.

Both view Hezbollah as a terrorist group. Both see the hand of Syria and Iran in supporting Hezbollah.

But Israel's military action against Lebanon has huge complications.

The US has been supporting Lebanon's independence and leading calls for an end to Syria's interference in the country.

Yes, America is concerned that Hezbollah is still a political force in the country and represented in the government.

It has called on Lebanon take steps to disarm Hezbollah.

But America wants to strengthen - not weaken - Lebanon as an independent state.

When Israel targets Lebanon, it undermines those efforts and increases the sectarian divide in a country that is trying to emerge from decades of civil war.

Deliberate provocation?

Then there are the broader regional issues.

The US fears that this is a deliberate attempt by Tehran and Damascus to provoke Israel and divide international opinion.

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned that any Israeli attack on Syria would provoke a fierce response.

This has the potential to spark a wider conflict in the whole region.

Limited options

So what can the United States do?

It can hardly condemn Israel for its response to an act of "terrorism".

At best President Bush can urge restraint.


Israel has bombed Lebanese targets after warning leaflets
The question is how much pressure does the US place on Israel.

In public, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has already stepped up that pressure.

Speaking on her way to the G8 summit, she said it was "extremely important" that Israel exercised restraint in its acts of self-defence.

In private those messages will be put more forcefully.

America hopes that restraint by Israel can avoid a split in the international community.

The US does not want to be the only country left defending Israel's actions.

Washington wants to turn international condemnation towards Hezbollah, Syria and Iran instead.

But it is very hard to see how the US can turn the current crises in Lebanon to its advantage.

Even though the Hezbollah chief had an office in Beirut which Israel bombed today, their main headquarters is in Damascus. That is from where they were 'activated' for the strike in Northern Israel a few days ago.

Israel's incursion into Lebanon is only going to produce minimal results in stopping Hezbollah. If you want to kill the snake, cut off its' head. The tail is in Lebanon, but its' head is in Damascus...

Thanks, I see the "connection." Got me to thinking about how Bush was criticized for his statements about the countries that sponsor terrorism and our strike against Iraq. He told a story of seeing a copperhead on a path frequented by his grandchildren near his home. He shot and killed it. A newspaperman asked him why he shot the snake, as it was harming no one. Bush told the man that he was making a pre-emptive strike, to protect his grandchildren, and likened it to our strike against Iraq.

Israel is defending herself against known enemies, terrorist, that would love nothing better than to blow her off the map. If Bush tries to reign in Israel...wouldn't that make him somewhat a hypocrite?

Next thought...(and I don't have many lucid ones so forgive me if it makes no sense)...judging from the wars and skirmishes that Israel has had over the past few decades in which they were sorely out numbered and yet defeated soundly the enemy, it stands to reason that if the Lord is behind them they will not lose this time either. Couldn’t we lay it on Gamalieh's argument? We wait and see. If it is of the Lord, they will prevail and we might just "set sail," and if not, they won't, and this is yet another birth pang meant by the Lord to set another piece of the prophetic puzzle in place.

Wasn't much of a thought, but it is the one I had.

Even if nothing comes of this, it's still a birth pang of which will continue to escalate until the 'birth' of the Messiah at the Second Coming. The question is: How many more pangs will we witness on earth until our calling up? We shall see...

and I think it is going to get very interesting before it is all over and the trumpet sounds. I keep praying for one more day. There are still people out there, some we know and love and some we don't. I pray for one more day to plant seeds...

Also pray for the leaders of this earth both friend and foe...that the Lord's will be done...especially for our leaders and those in Israel...

While we wait and watch, we have work to do...Lord said so..."Go Ye," He is telling us, "Teach and Preach" Occupy till He comes...Amen?

I don't think the current conflict is leading up to World War 3 and Armageddon, I don't think think it's a birth pain, I don't believe that the EU is going to sprout the AC, and I don't believe that sin is running ram-pied throughout the world.

I see things getting better every day, and the reason for this is the ongoing spread of the Good News.

things are not getting better they are getting worse especially here in the US. yes the good news is that the Gospel is being preached around the world. but before it can get better it has to get worse the Bible says so.

I'm afraid the Good News doesn't agree with you. Divine Intervention Forum does not ascribe to the theory that the Church is preparing the earth for Christs return. This is a non-debatable subject as listed in our Forum Rules.

Re-read them, then perhaps you'll conclude this is not the forum for you.

I'm not trying to be trite, or belittle anyone or their views, and or beliefs. But I can't help but wonder at the amazement displayed by sincere christians at times. We get anxious (?) evertime something happens in the ME, or like when certain of the european nations joined thier currency into one. Things of that nature.
Paul taught, & truly believed himself that Christs' return was imminent, could happen at any time, & this was months, or just very few years after the death & ressurection of our Lord. He proably knew the OT prophecies better than most, but he just did what he was told to do...preached, & looked for His return every day.
I'm not saying don't get excited, but shouldn't we be excited every single day that this may be the day....& live accordingly. And before someone thinks I'm being harsh, or judgemental,...I'm looking at my own self first, I KNOW I could do more.
This, well, was just a thought that entered my little simple mind!!

Layer, I would tend to agree with your thought that some things are seemly better, as far as WORLDLY living goes, yet this would only apply to those who chose to live IN the world. Of the spiritual realm however, which include the Good News, the world is not getting better; given the meer mention of God and prayer in public is progressively being suppressed. How can we teach of God's "Agape" love and what Jesus did for "all" with such spiritiual suppression growing worse?

Before I can determine if a WW3 is about to erupt based on the current event conflicts, I feel it is necessary to watch closer for awhile to see who stands with Israel and against.

Just my thought shared.
