Jesus said, as recorded in Matthew 24:6-7, that there would be wars and rumors of wars, nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom. The present Middle East crisis surely fits that prophecy. Jesus also told John the apostle to write in the book of Revelation about wars that would be prevalent during the seven year period of judgment yet to come; these were recorded in Revelation 6:3-4, 9:1-16, and 19:11-20. I'm not saying that the Lord is coming tomorrow or the next day, I say as a Christian we should be ready and live as if it is going to happen in the next five minutes. No one knows the hour but God and He isn't telling, but he did give us things to watch for as it's stated in Mattthew Chapter 24. Pay attention to Matthew 24:32-39 The parable of the fig tree. As the world watches the Middle East crisis intensifying, the words of Jesus Christ draw closer to fulfillment, and it could be very soon. Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Amen

Pleasure is on this end. Brought to mind another fig tree...do you know which one I am thinking of? Would it be reference to the fruitless fig tree? Matthew 21:19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon °, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. You can tell by the fruit it bears.

that would be the one Dave. When I think of one I always think of the other. Jesus said it wouldn't bear fruit ...ever...it is one of the saddest curses I think, that one, the one He placed on the hypocrites.
"Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever."
I always have thought He meant it for the unbelieving Jews of that day too.

Dear Keith: Shalom !. The present conflict from the point of our spiritual insight and strategic assessment would indicate the following: a) The escalation spiral to a prolonged conflict has set in stage--three alliances have formed against Israel i) Hamas-Hizbullah violent non-state actors suicidal objectives; ii) The Shia axis of Iran-Syria state actors; iii) The Russia-China axis against the United States. Funny you should say that, I saw a (recently) retired CIA officer on MSNBC the other night that gave exactly the same breakdown. He said Russia and China are the "wild cards" that we (in the US) really need to keep our eyes on.

We're seeing the coalition spoken of in Ezekiel 38-39 (Rosh & the Kings of the East) come into existence...what a time to be alive! Good to have you here brother, I've missed our time together... Hi, I'm new here, just joined. I see what's going on as an impossible situation that is getting worse with every moment.
My question at the moment is, if there is no solution, where is the man of peace? Or am I being too impatient?

Welcome Sybaelle! Are you referring to the man of 'false peace', the Antichrist, or the REAL man of peace, the Lord Jesus Christ?

Sorry, the false man of peace. I'm thinking that we would at least be aware of him even if we are taken away before he starts doing anything of import.

Thanks Sybaelle, I understand your question now. The Church is not instructed anywhere in Scripture to watch for the Antichrist, but is always told to watch for Christ. We are not to be in supposition over the identity of the evil one else it takes our focus from Jesus.
The signs Jesus gave us to watch for in Mathew 24 are to let us know our redemption, the Rapture, is near:
"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28 KJV)
When we see the signs He told us of beginning to occur all at the same time, His appearing for us is near at hand...

Yes, I'm being too impatient. I know how you feel. An old joke: 'Lord, give me patience...BUT HURRY!' ;D You know when the Lord Jesus will appear to take us Home Sybaelle? Right on time...

Yes He will. In a way I don't like it when events start happening because it makes me antsy.
There's lots to do in the little time left!

Nita and I look at it like this: The worse things get, the closer He is to coming! It's been a very exciting week prophetically, and it's going to get busier as this week goes along.
If God has chosen this moment to fulfill His prophecy of Israel destroying Damascus, we're going to have the most powerful witnessing tool at our disposal since the regathering of Israel to their homeland in 1948!
The souls we can win for Christ before He takes us could be phenominal!

Maybe just curious. In truth I think we all are just a bit. In reality the antichrist is probably going to come out of left field. From the descriptions in the Bible when He who letteth is removed and the Church gone, man will spiral downward rapidly. We had a preview of that maybe, when the hurricane hit New Orleans. I have wondered if the Rapture isn't going to contribute greatly to that. Many people and some key people are going to disappear, in the twinkling of an eye. I have also wondered if everyone will see it and what they will think when the dead rise up all over the place. Something like it happened when Jesus was crucified.
"And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many." Matthew 27:52-53
Matthew is the only Gospel that records that. We are all curious about so many things surrounding that time that is coming.

Elisah saw the whirlwind come and take Elijah away and the eunuch is bound to have wondered when Philip disappeared all of a sudden. Those are two examples we have of what we call the Rapture.
"And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces."2 KIngs 2:11-12
"And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing." Acts 8:39
