Was reading "The Plea" that Caretaker wrote and was thinking about it. Caretaker is from the West so my mind went all around the barn to a trip my family took many many years ago. We drove cross-country on old Route 66 all the way to my Grandparent's house in Oxnard California. It was quite a trip. Every few miles there was something to stop and see and do. Have your picture taken with a real native American, have your picture taken on a horse or in a covered wagon. Stop and shop in a trading post in a Indian Reservation...stop and look down into the Grand Canyon...and on and on and on.
As we began to approach a desert we would begin to see signs that said...last chance at gas...last chance for food or water before the desert...
Last Chance!
Today we are on another great trip...the greatest of our lives...we are traveling toward end of time and the beginning of eternity...and our journey is almost over. We are now seeing distinct signs that are telling us we are almost there...
Last Chance!
We are shortly going to arrive at the point that Noah and his family did. Lord is going to tell us to board the Ark and then He is going to close the door. Those of us inside the Ark are safe in Christ...
Those on the outside will have missed their...
Last chance!
Last chance at salvation...last chance at eternity in Heaven with Jesus...last chance at eternal peace and joy...
Last Chance!
Makes our mission urgent...to spread the Word at every opportunity...whether people want to listen or not because it is the last chance.
From a Cave on Higher Ground, Amen.

Amen Sis!!!! I was just reminded of the old Red Skelton Show, where Red talks about driving through Texas, "Miles and miles of miles and miles".. It is like the Holy Spirit is moving in the hearts of the Brethren and drawing us together in Him. Time is so short and our next conversation may be our last, and what would we say to someone if we knew that this was all we would ever be able to say?

I have truly missed you Mike Ferrell...you always make me laugh...
Thank you Lord for brother Mike...down on Polecat Creek...
and thank you Lord for brother Tim...who preached revivial at our church this fall...
The last night of revival the preacher locked his suit and notes in his car. No locksmith was available till 7:30 pm, which would be 30 minutes after the preachin’ had started. So the preacher preached with no notes and in a pair of Bermuda shorts.
It was without a doubt one of the best sermons I have heard in many a moon. The preacher preached on Heaven…
With all the gloom and doom wouldn’t it be better to turn eyes toward heaven and remember what was told in the Bible…
“…Eye hath not seen nor ear heard…”
One evening about twilight I heard what God’s voice sounds like. The sound of many waters, a trumpet…I wondered as I sat out in the yard, what will He sound like when I finally hear Him speak. I heard a low hum…and looked to see what it was. It was a humming bird that flew very near my ear and hovered. I could hear the individual wing flaps as the little bird hovered there.
God’s voice sounds like the wings of a humming bird. In Heaven we will hear it everyday…a sound like the wings of a humming bird and it will be breath takingly beautiful.
From a cave on Higher Ground, Amen

Time is so short and our next conversation may be our last, and what would we say to someone if we knew that this was all we would ever be able to say? We had a brother go Home last night. His name was Jack, and he was 88 years young. Used to go to our church and have kept in contact since. We called each other at least once a week, and I got over to see him every few weeks. He'd been having health problems lately. His poor old body was simply getting tired. I think he knew time was short but didn't want to say anything so no one would worry. I printed and took him my last commentary a few weeks ago. He loved to read them, and we'd talk about how the times were getting and how near the Lord was to returning. I noticed how poorly he looked, and the Lord put it in my heart that his time was short and to make sure I told him what I needed to. I shook his hand extra firm when I left that afternoon. I looked him straight in the eye and said "I love you brother Jack." He said "I love you too Keith."He leaves a dear wife of seventy-some-odd years, Reba, who's also in her eighties. I imagine she'll move in with her daughter and son-in-law now. They live in a small town not far from here. I've remembered all day long of our last time together, and I've wondered, what better words to leave with someone till you meet them in the Kingdom? I think there are none better. I'm going to miss brother Jack. We're going to see him again though. Soon, very, very soon...

Praise the Lord for this new precious little lamb. May He envelope Momma and the wee-one with His love, and bless with an easy delivery and minister blessings of health, in Jesus' name.
A bit chilly on the front porch this evening. Temperature about 31 with a few flakes of snow in the air, gusty north wind. Got the wood-burning furnace fired-up and is toasty warm in the house. Have about a cord of wood piled at the rack and a couple in a pile west of the shop.
Hot chocolate by the fire anyone?

I have had the privaledge and honor to meet the living legend - Sister Duck in person ( but i forgot to get her autograph ), and it would be likewise to meet you and all of these grand folks for that matter on this side of eternity.. Ain't we gonna have a time over yonder!! AMEN!! Thanks for the offer again, Brother-- truly may the opportunity come for a meeting... until then..... that ole foldgers medium roast, french vanilla, splenda, and a dab of cream-- will be just the trick!! enjoy the hot chocolate! Just came in from walking with my dogs. Cold and rainy tonight but walking with Dan, Pete and Riley is a habit I can't break...
Came in and put up my coat and rain gear and was trying to decide between a cup of hot chocolate and a cup of hot java...
decided on the hot chocolate with two big marshmellows...
Snow? Would love and have been praying for snow for my birthday...Christmas Eve.

and Brother Drew, I wouldn't mind at all, settin' out on the front porch in the glider for awhile watching it snow with a cup of steaming hot chocolate with two marshmellows in it.
I think it would be grand!
