Lasting Forever
"My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever."
Some time ago feeling overwhelmed by work, I went for a walk to pray and saw fluttering in the breeze the answer to my prayer. It was a page out of a book of devotionals that had fallen out on the street...Lord put it there for me to find and read. I just know that is so. It was a direct and immediate answer to my prayer at that moment.
Today, many many months later, tired from my work and home, but again praying to the Lord for some relief from the burden of work...I happened across the little devotional from that other day long ago when I was in distress. Only this time the other side was up and I read this...it was again a direct and immediate answer to a prayer from a troubled saint to her Father in Heaven...

"Time is rushing past me, Father. Some days I feel so old. I don't have the energy I used to have when the children were young. I love my grandchildren, but sometimes I get so worn out when they're here. Physically, I'm wearing out, and it doesn't feel very good.
In the core of my being, in my heart, Lord, I still feel strengthened by you. No matter how slow I've become or how it hurts to get up in the morning, I still want to serve You in any way I can. I can pray for my children and grandchildren during those rest periods I seem to need. I'm grateful for that time. What a blessed promise that this inner strength will be my portion forever."
Amen.
May this little devotional be a blessing to someone else as it has been to me Lord...
That is my prayer and my praise to you Lord.
Amen.

I understand being tired and feeling like life has just rushed past you. Whoosh..where'd it go??? But God has kept us here for a reason and you have been a blessing to so many. Me especially, you have held me up when I felt I couldn't go on, listened to me countless times, and kept me in your prayers. I couldn't have asked for a better sister when we met 8 years ago. Has it been so long? Wow. I will pray for you dear sister the The Lord grants you peace, grace and strength. And I know He will.

You have done the very same things for me Sylvia...so many times. I am thankful for your friendship and someday maybe we will be next door neighbors...with homes on the shore of a Heavenly duck pond... Wouldn't that be something! Yep...quick count on my fingers...8 years give or take a month or two...

Yep...quick count on my fingers...8 years give or take a month or two... Yes, I do beleive that there is a wonderful duck pond in heaven. And I also think you're right, 8 years or so. All you have to do is watch the news. America is falling, the mideast is hot as fire, Israel is surrounded. Wow this kind of sounds like a Book I read...sure am glad I'm on the right side and I'm so glad you are too.

We will live forever, if we believe in Jesus.
