Wake up: US wave of hate won't die down on its own

The protests against Israel on American campuses, which began with slogans like "Free Palestine" and "From the river to the sea," and escalated into gross and shameless antisemitism, have a contagious effect. Toxic campaigns on social media, including those openly or unknowingly supporting Hamas' murderous terrorism and erasing Israel from the map, are spreading at an alarming rate.

But the huge noise of these protests obscures the truth: Most Americans aren’t antisemitic, certainly not Hamas supporters. Many of them, from the East Coast to California, don’t differentiate between Hamas and hummus.

Surveys still show widespread support for Israel, even if it's wavering among the youth. The U.S. Congress, for the most part, is pro-Israel, except for a relatively small radical faction within the Democratic party.
