The Arabs are descendants of Ishmael. Here's their description:
And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. (Genesis 16:11-12)

They are the decendents of Esau who settled in what in now S Jordan which Was in ancient times Edom. They are the people spoken of in Obadiah. Ammon and Moab were sons Of Lot. Along with Edom you have the 3 names for today's Jordan

This is where the Bible says they went...
"And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, And of the dew of heaven from above; And by thy sword shalt thou live, And shalt serve thy brother; And it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, That hthou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck." Genesis 27:39-40
Fatness of the earth suggest wealthy places...countries of wealth.
Lawrence and Bob...know the history and who and where they might be today...
They are wild men so it is quite possible we are seeing their descendants in action today...

Are the people there today the decedents of Esau The descendants of Esau, the Edomites, are not geographically bound to just S. Jordan. Reading about them will tell us that they migrated to other areas of the Holy Land. Hebron in the West Bank, Gaza etc. They identify with the name today of the Palestinians, but not all Palestinians are declared to be descendants of Esau. Primarily due to their migration.

King Herod was an Edomite through his father. His mother was Jewish.

Have read somewhere about Esau's 12 sons and where their descendants went. I think it was at Virgil's web site somewhere. Maybe he can point it out to us...please Virgil?

Esau only had 5 sons - 1Chron. 1:35, “The sons of Esau; Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.” Also read Gen. 36:1-5, and the rest of chapter 36 goes on with the rest of the generations of Esau, starting with his sons. Esau’s grandsons that are mentioned in Scripture are 11 in total, from two of his sons. He may have had more than this from his other three sons but they are not mentioned. Ishmael on the other hand had 12 sons, the uncle to Jacob and Esau. They became the 12 original nations of the Arab world, who today are broken down into many nations. Palestinians today for the most part are supposedly the descendants of Esau (Edom). Though, not all hold to that claim to be descendants of the Edomites. The land of Edom was south of Jordan, actually part of Jordan and south of Israel. Look up ancient maps of Palestine. But here is an interesting fact. Many of those who claim to be of the line of Esau claim to have no blood relations of the Arabs (as a people in whole that is). We know that isn’t true. Esau married the daughter of Ishmael, the father of the Arab nations we see today. Just as Jacob is the Father of the 12 Tribes of Israel. There are many who not to be of the line of Esau, yet, they claim at the same time the land belong to them by right cause Esau was the first heir to it and stolen. Have heard that from a Palestinian teachers. Don Fleming wrote in his book “Bible Lands, Then and Now” Sorry I do not have a link to this it’s from one of my own books. “The native peoples of Canaan belonged to many tribal groups, though in common language they were often called Amorites.3 The Philistines, however, were different. They were not natives of the region, but had migrated from the Mediterranean island of Crete, earlier known as Caphtor.4 Further migrations followed, and by the time of the Judges they were a problem for Israel. Their region became known as ‘the land of the Philistines’, from which came the name ‘Palestine’, a designation later used for the region that the Bible calls Canaan.
Philistia’s main population centres – Gaza, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Gath and Ekron – became known as ‘the five cities of the Philistines’ and were the scene of many conflicts with ancient Israel.5 Some are still identifiable and are the scenes of conflicts with present-day Israel. A partly autonomous Palestinian region has been marked off within national Israel, with Gaza on the Palestinian side, and Ashkelon and Ashdod on the Israeli side. There are Christians on both sides of the border, but in each case they are a disadvantaged minority."It was suggested to Palestine and Jordan within the last couple of years, that they should consider creating a Palestinian state in Jordan. Being that’s were much of the original Edom had begun, King Abdullah II of Jordan shot that idea right down and got pretty mad about it, made it clear that was not an option. I haven’t heard anything of that idea since. Here is a quote from Walid Shobat (not sure who all would know who Walid Shobat is, but he is a former PLO terrorist, later finding out the truth and acknowledging Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Now speaks out against Islam and studies prophecy of the Bible.) He quoted this by saying, “Why is it that on June 4th 1967 I was a Jordanian and overnight I became a Palestinian?”…………. “We did not particularly mind Jordanian rule. The teaching of the destruction of Israel was a definite part of the curriculum, but we considered ourselves Jordanian until the Jews returned to Jerusalem. Then all of the sudden we were Palestinians - they removed the star from the Jordanian flag and all at once we had a Palestinian flag”. That’s todays Palestine, this is a quote I saved when reading it and can’t remember where I found it. Not to get off the subject here but interesting enough, King Abdullah II of Jordan and Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine just a few weeks ago made an historic treaty. Here is an excerpt of that agreement, first paragraph only… “His Majesty King Abdullah II and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas signed in Amman today a historic agreement, in which President Abbas reaffirmed that His Majesty King Abdullah II is the Custodian of the Holy Sites in Jerusalem, and has full right to exert all legal efforts to safeguard and preserve them, especially al-Masjids al-Aqsa, defined as the entire al-Haram al-Sharif (of 144 Dunums).” Here is the link to the full agreement. kingabdullah.jo/index.php/en_US/news/view/id/10779/videoDisplay/1.htmlTheir holy sites in Jerusalem is the on the Temple Mount (Holy Mount of God), that would be the Dome of the Rock and the mosque that is also located upon the Temple Mount. Have more information on Palestine from John Kitto, published in the later 1800’s. It covers about 10 or 11 paragraphs, and being I have this volume set on my pc, it’s easy to copy and paste it and send it to anyone who might be interested in reading it. For me it’s really interesting to see who the players were in Biblical times in the Bible, their association to Israel, etc. Then to see and know who the end time players are we are seeing today in the world. Sorry this might be a little long but it is interesting stuff.
