“The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD” (Proverbs 21:31 KJV).
One Bible commentary explains this verse that the victory being “of the LORD” means that it is accomplished by Him. Ultimate success comes from the LORD and not from human efforts. The faithful have acknowledged this down through the ages, even though they have been responsible and have prepared for the wars. Without this belief there would have been no prayer on the eve of battle (e.g., Psalm 20:7 and Proverbs 33:17).
Now if you are one who enjoys the doomsday prepper lifestyle of sort because you notice, as I do, the trends of a country headed for destruction, at least let your motivation be in proportion to biblical principles. By all means, prepare to your hearts content for the rough times ahead. They no doubt are coming for this country. But keep your priorities straight. Whatever you do, do not forget to prepare your soul first. Trust in God. Walk by faith with Him in the power of His Spirit. Stay in His Word. Do not act out of fear and disproportion. For God has not left the building! That happens to be YOU believer! He has not abandoned you. Please do try to get over yourself; God has not brought you this far to make you start earning your Salvation. The population in Noah's day was warned of God's impending judgment upon the earth. Deliverance did not come at the hand of one who prepared best to survive on land in the rainy days ahead. Salvation was in the silliest of notions to most men, off of terra firma onto the high waters. What! Salvation came in the form of a wooden craft, a masterful vessel actually when built according to God's specifications--- a wonderful picture of God's Salvation! Salvation and protection are secure by His grace and love. Who kept Noah's laden ark upright and afloat on the sea? God did. Salvation both eternal and in time is NOT up to you. His Salvation is never up to you. God does all the work, and all credit goes to Him. You have forgotten this already, some of you. Safety is of the Lord and certainly not in all your feverish preparations for the great troubles ahead in the Tribulation. The good news for YOU whether you like it or not, in fact the good news for every born-again Christian in the body of Christ with a bunker or not, is this: Our God and Father has not appointed the Church to a single moment on earth in the Tribulation. So will you please take a big breath and breathe already. We all need to get a little perspective on the bad times ahead. God is still on His throne!
That the Scriptures teach that the Rapture will occur BEFORE the Tribulation is clear from several lines of biblical evidence. To conjure a different timeline for the Rapture of the born-again Church simply flies in the face of all we know about our eternal and personal relationship with God as believers united with Christ as His betrothed. I maintain that Mid or Post Tribulationism requires serious reverse engineering to much of the NT doctrines concerning God's grace, the Church, the believer's position in Christ, and the distinction of Church saints in relation to Israel, Christ in the believer, the hope of glory, the believer's sealing by and indwelling of God the Holy Spirit, and so much more. The very idea of a delayed Rapture until a straggler prophecy involving the Church is finally fulfilled in the Tribulation is a lot unsettling in contradictions. It is particularly hard to be silent when otherwise sincere Christians actually fear that Christ in you still consigns the born-again believer to a portion of God's wrath. Even I, with modest mental acuity, can see that the preponderance of evidence in the biblical data favors the Pretribulation Rapture view. So I say to those who see it differently: we love you still brothers and sisters of the Christian fold, but as a matter of Truth, the Church will not enter or go through any part of the Tribulation period. Period.
Just a thought...
