Hello again everyone! Hope everyone is doing well.
I have a prayer request for myself. I am feeling kind of overwhelmed and nervouse about things that are going on in our world. I know we are suppose to be strong in the Lord.
Please pray for me that the Lord will grant me strength and that I can get over my depression.
Thank you.

Have been feeling a bit overwhelmed by life myself lately...doesn't seem to be much going on that is good... Then last evening after dinner I looked out in my back yard and it was covered with Goldfinches...my back yard is about 5 acres. It was such a glorious sight that I thanked the Lord for the little things that make this time barable...though, 100s of Goldfinches is no little thing...

also got to see an ole Tom turkey gone a courtin'...ever seen that? A turkey courtin'? It is quite a sight.
Got quite a laugh out of it too. No matter what ole Tom turkey did, puffed himself up big enough to explode and fanned his tail way out to impress the lady turkey, but she just kept walking away.
Praying for you Heart...
just like Spring is coming, so is Jesus...that is enough to make any of us grin from ear to ear and puff up bigger than ole Tom turkey!
Lord's coming...
;D

Hi Heart,
Yes, as Marilyn said, Jesus is coming! And He mentioned such situations as you're feeling:
"And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful." (Mark 4:19)
As bad as things are, they're going to get worse as His coming for us draws near. But the Lord reminds us not to put all our attention on the affairs of the world else they constrain our efforts to produce fruit. When the events of life begin to close in on you, remember what He said:
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27)
He's coming Heart, and He's coming quickly! Use what's going on in the world to show people how much they need Him and how close He is.
May the Lord guide you...

Amen to all above!
You aren't they only one who feels down about this world, Heart. I can't watch much of the news anymore, and now I am beginning to not want to watch much TV at all. It is so much easier for me to look at Jesus when I don't listen to all the terrible things going on right now.
Jesus is coming again, and soon! There are many trees here beginning to bloom and leaf and it reminds me of Jesus' parable of the fig tree:
[glow=red,2,300]Luke 21:29 Then he told them a parable: "Look at the fig tree and all the trees. Luke 21:30 As soon as they produce leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is already near. [/glow]
Come, Lord Jesus!

here is a verse that sometimes helps me to get over a hump or out of a rut... "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. " Philippians 4:8Lately I need to staple it to my eyebrows...

Don't know if this belongs in this thread but I know I need constant support from God in this world now, maybe like Heart said that she did.
The verses that everyone has shared here help me every time I read them.
Dear Heavenly Father:
I need Your constant assurance right now, like an attention-seeking child who needs constant reassurance. Please stay with me.
Amen

Amen here too.
reminds me of a Christmas hymn...
I love thee Lord Jesus. Look down from the sky, and stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.
Away in a Manger.
