I had never given thought to the ones that get left behind when the rapture comes it will be as when noah shut the door of the ark and the floods came and so all the ones who reject will be on the outside and left
so as for me I find joy great hope I watch daily and am greatly looking foward to the rapture and here is something interesting to consider in refer to it shall be as the days of noah! and so I believe the rapture is immenent and am hopeful everyday
8-)I believe jesus wanted us to know to look up our redemption draweth nigh to also comfort one another with the watching for the rapture and so maybe you would be interested in consider the diference about the 2 events one is the rapture the other is the 2nd comeing and so as for the rapture of the church I believe jesus wanted us to hope for it watch and pray and comfort one another and so for all you hopeful think about this is says I want to look into this a little deeper because we have been told by so many for so long that it means we will not know the day or hour Jesus will rapture the church or the day and hour He returns as seen in Zechariah 14:4 and His feet actually touch the Mount of Olives. Lets look at what is really said here.
First, Mark 13:3 tells us Jesus was asked three questions by Peter, James, John and Andrew. The questions however, are recorded in Matthew 24:3;
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
The first question is asked regarding what Jesus just told them about the temple from verse 1 & 2;
1: And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2: And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Jesus answers them and then goes through a lengthy dissertation regarding signs of the end. The last question asked is the point addressed when Jesus tells them this in verses 35 & 36;
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
That and that alone, is what Jesus is refering to. It has not one thing to do in reference to the rapture of the church OR His second coming when His feet touch Mount of Olives.
Even verses 29 and 30 should lead us to understand that He has given them information regarding the destruction of the temple prior to this point. Then He states this;
29: Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
That speaks directly to His second coming.
The signs Jesus has given them regarding what will be generally happening at the end is what He spoke to.
Then Jesus gives them a specific answer regarding the final judgment and the point in time this world and heaven pass away and God creates a new heaven and earth. That point in time is the only thing Jesus is refering to when He tells them:
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
That day and hour is the day God causes this heaven and earth to pass away and we see the next event from Revelation 21:1;
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea
That and that alone, is what Jesus is speaking to. And don't forget what Jesus told us about His church being raptured in the very next verse 38.
38: For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
Luke 17:27 records the same statement;
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
The day Noah entered the ark can be found in Genesis 7:11;
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
That is the 17th of Cheshvan and it falls on November 8th this year. Also Noah died 2,006 years after Noah! Did you know that? GO HERE
And Cheshvan 17 5767 (Nov.8, 2006) is precisely 14,400 days (40 years) from June 6, 1967.
Anyway, I hope this clears up the question surrounding just what "day knoweth no man" is that Jesus spoke about.
