“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” --- 1 Timothy 3:16 KJV If ever an idea were beyond our firm grasp, surely it must be the thought that the Creator God of the universe could take on a human nature. How, possibly, does an eternal being fit within the temporal limitations of mortal man? Is not the concept of "Incarnate God" the ultimate oxymoron, something in the nature of a square circle? To believe John's Gospel is to believe in "squircles," or at least One in particular. Yet John's consummate prologue is unequivocal: To believe in Jesus Christ is to believe He was the one and only "God-man," 100% humanity, and undiminished deity. As fully God as fully man---He was the Creator and creature all in one! Isn't it a little shallow of us to suggest that God Who is spirit just wrapped Himself in human flesh like some kind of high tech cyborg? In other words, is God wrapped in flesh all that is meant by God manifest in the flesh? What actually happened is so much more genius than what we think. What happened was a miracle! This extraordinary event in the physical world surpassed all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to the supernatural work of God. And what you should know is that the word incarnation literally means embodiment (PERSON-ification) in flesh. By way of the virgin birth, God took on human personhood! In the Incarnation, the Son of God took upon Himself not only a human body, but also a human soul and spirit. Thus becoming both the material and immaterial sides of human existence, He became entire man, and so closely and permanently related to the human family that He is rightly called "The Last Adam," and “the body of His glory” (Philippians 3:21) is now an abiding fact. As the God-Man, Jesus truly is the unique Person of the universe! -Brad

Amen.
Have always been awed by the statement...when the baby Jesus cried on the night He was born the voice of God was heard for the first time on the earth in human form.

Isn't it a little shallow of us to suggest that God Who is spirit just wrapped Himself in human flesh like some kind of high tech cyborg? I have always felt this way: it amazes me that God allowed Himself to experience bodily functions just like you and I. What a wonderful God we serve!

What wonderful thoughts and it sure inspires us to reach out to envision just a pinch of the SUPER natural ways of our Creator, Redeemer and Friend! Wow, Thank you Brad for posting this! My dear friend San was telling me a vision/perception that was given to her, ... Just think of how GOD must have felt to be able to touch HIS creations, His people, cattle, flora, water, to feel the Air, and the waves, to hear the laughter and sobs of humans and critters! Sans' most intense part of this perception was just kind of a question, ... Just what did Jesus do as He was getting ready to sit on the little colt to ride into Jerusalem? San pictured HIM rubbing the baby donkey's ears and petting his nose and neck. Just to be able to interact with His creations....How He felt as he hugged James and John and teased Simeon and Thomas and how HE felt when HE broke bread with all of His disciples, .... What ever could Jesus have felt as Mary broke her expensive canister with even more expensive ointment as an offering of love and repentance to The One so few of His disciples understood.... Good thoughts for the New Year Maranatha, Allelujah, Amen!

My dear friend San was telling me a vision/perception that was given to her, ... I prefer 'perception', as in an existing passage was made clear to her. The term 'vision' sounds too much like it's a new revelation and she's adding to the Scripture (Revelaion 22:18), a no-no.
