Old friend died last night. Good man and good law enforcement officer...knew his stuff, and cool under pressure... Gonna miss Deputy Steve. He was at a local resturant and choked on a piece of steak. Apparently it was lodged so well the heimich didn't work... He didn't make it. It is a lesson to us about how fragile this life is... and we need to make the most of every moment. I know Steve always did. See ya later Steve.

Yes, way too young . . . and yet, they are running up and down the streets of glory right about now, enjoying their new bones and having a great time with Jesus.
Kind of makes you envious.

In a way it does...sometimes I wonder why we love life so well...

Nope, not me. The Lord's blessed us richly in this life, but I look forward to going Home. You might say: I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. Come, Lord.

neither do I Keith...I think you misunderstood my musing...
it is a wonder people don't intentionally end their lives to go be with Jesus...
yet we don't...we try to live our lives the best we can.
Our deep love for the Lord instills in us a great respect for His creation and His right to give and take life...bring us into this world as babies and call us out of this world at an hour that He appoints.
looks like to me anyway. I am 66 years old. Have lived to be older than both of my parents and 3 of my grandparents. So many of my friends are not here now. They are dead...yet I walk on. I don't look back so much any more and spend my days busy, and looking forward.
Yet it is a marvel to me that I want to go to a place I have never been, know is my home...and accept that it exist on faith...cause Jesus said so.

And Deputy Steve has finished his course . . . God bless him! In shady, green pastures, so rich and so sweet, God leads His dear children along; Where the water’s cool flow bathes the weary one’s feet, God leads His dear children along.
Some through the waters, some through the flood, Some through the fire, but all through the blood; Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song, In the night season and all the day long.
Sometimes on the mount where the sun shines so bright, God leads His dear children along; Sometimes in the valley, in darkest of night, God leads His dear children along.
Some through the waters, some through the flood, Some through the fire, but all through the blood; Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song, In the night season and all the day long.
Though sorrows befall us and evils oppose, God leads His dear children along; Through grace we can conquer, defeat all our foes, God leads His dear children along.
Some through the waters, some through the flood, Some through the fire, but all through the blood; Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song, In the night season and all the day long.
Away from the mire, and away from the clay, God leads His dear children along; Away up in glory, eternity’s day, God leads His dear children along.
Some through the waters, some through the flood, Some through the fire, but all through the blood; Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song, In the night season and all the day long.

LIKE!
world's word for our AMEN!
Amen!
It was a grand send off...church was packed and uniforms were everywhere.
Steve was well loved and well respected. I 'speck he heard the Lord say..."Well done...my good and faithful servant."
Then Steve got on his Harley and rode off into eternity! Lotta guys in uniform up there...he is in very good company.
