I don't know exactly where this story belongs, but I do know that all the people and dogs need prayer.
Friday night, my husband went to check the estate house where he is caretaker. We had not heard from Tim, the young man living there, for just over a week. He found the three dogs locked inside the house. One dog had been dead for several days, and the other two dogs had to be removed by animal control. One will be euthanized; the last one may not live. The dogs had been without food or water for at least 4 days.
Tim is in the hospital. He has been diagnosed with meningitis of unknown type/cause. He is not conscious.
I helped remove the two living dogs. I had to heavily drug one of them, just so that the animal control officer could capture it without harm. I was still pretty ill, and the whole scene makes me ill when I think about it. I am sure that Keith and Marilyn have witnessed far worse, but this one gets to little ol' me.
Could you please pray for everyone involved? There are a lot of unanswered questions.

May the Lord see to all the needs and concerns of all involved as His will dictates, in Jesus' Name, amen.

Me three, especially for Tim. AMEN Thanks. Tim has not been able to communicate as of yesterday, although he has been taken out of ICU.

Keep us advised...praying for Tim. How's the dog? No information from animal control, even to me. I called the veterinary clinic where the dogs were boarded just this last December (for a month, while Tim was in rehab); they may have more luck getting information. The staff had become very attached to the dog who died.

Very sad...could Tim's illness and the dogs health problems be related?

It sure breaks my heart, especially as it hits close to home with my own two precious babies and the thought that if I was struck down, how quickly would someone check on the wee-ones.
Lifting up in heart and most fervent prayers.

I was just thinking that this may be an over-looked ministry opportunity for the Church.
For those living alone, especially the elderly and infirm, to have someone checking on them on a daily basis.

I have a single elderly widow in residence here, who uses a walker. I have now set up to call her every evening after I settle in for the night.

Good idea, Caretaker. Tim is talking, some, but does not make sense and does not recognize anyone.

So Tim is at home, now; but he needs someone to stay with him.
Tim's brain function has not returned to 100%; it is almost like a stroke, in that he knows what a bed is, but the wrong words come out (he has called a "bed", "Ice cream", for instance).

Will he get better over time? It is unknown; I have not heard any good news. Hubby and I are "blacklisted", so there is no way I can trick anyone into telling me anything.
