This bizarre storm system that is crossing the Midwest is, well, bizarre. It is 60 degrees F, and we are to get 1-3 inches of rain today. Yesterday, we had about 1-2 inches of ice covering the ground; parking lots (including mine!) were ice rinks. This morning, it was all gone. Just gone. Not even a smidgen of ice left on any parking lots. Now there are flood watches and warnings, tornado watches, and the temperature is supposed to drop tonight to no one will say what and snow! It is like the bad jokes we have always made about Illinois weather: just stick around, if you don't like the weather right now it will change very quickly!
So please pray that everyone in the Midwest will be safe through all this weather. Plus everyone traveling. It is bad enough to have bad weather and bad happenings, but to have it around Christmas seems to be worse.

Will be holding in heart and prayer.
Yesterday we hit 68 degrees,(half way between Emporia and Council Grove, KS), and we had strong thunderstorms with pea-sized hail around 1:30 this morning, and a tornado watch. The temperature will be just below freezing and the trees are coated in ice, but the roads are not too bad, just exposed sidewalks and bridges iced.
Will be below freezing with a chance of light snow today and almost 50 tomorrow.

Yes, very odd weather. It's almost 70 here right now. We're between fronts at the moment, the second one due in a couple of hours. Our domain host is having problems from the first storm and the site's down sporadically. Like brother Drew, we're scheduled for a drastic drop in temps with snow flurries forecast later this evening...
