Why I Called Out Joel Osteen and Joyce MeyerBy Rick Henderson I have been preaching for 20 years. Yesterday I did something that I have never done before in a sermon. I publicly called out false teachers and named them by name. I said, If you listen to Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer, if you take what they teach seriously, it will not be good for you. It will be detrimental to your long-term growth as a follower of Jesus. I used to think that their error was so blatantly obvious that they could just be ignored. I was wrong. They are massively growing in popularity in the evangelical world and are seen as credible and helpful. Before I’m inundated with questioning emails I want to share why I distrust these two and think you should as well. Every time I see those 2 names and a few others I cringe...
Thought this article lays out the problem with what those two individuals are teaching and preaching very well.

So many false teachers out there. Preaching that prosperity and feel good drivel that itching ears long for. There's nothing wrong and it's absolutely right to preach God's love..BUT God is holy holy holy and sin cannot stand in His prescence. That is why the blood of Jesus covers us so that we may be saved. But you also have to repent and follow God's Word. Yes, even those passages that make us uncomfortable and even those passages that cause rifts because people just wish they would go away. God has reasons for everything He wants us to do and whether we know it or not, or acknowledge it or not Father knows best.
