Nita's taking mom to the emergency room right now, She's bleeding severely from the rectum. Please offer prayers as you can.
Heavenly Father, heal and minister to Mom as Your will dictates, in Jesus name, Amen.

Brad and Mom's cousin Sandy are there with Nita also. The doctor is beginning an extensive physical exam and blood work and we should know something shortly.

Mom has a form of diverticulitis similar to what I had a couple of months ago. This particular kind manifests without any pain and in people her age.
The doctor believes it will clear up without any surgery but they are admitting her overnight for observation to make sure the bleeding has stopped. I spoke to her on the phone and she is in good spirits.
Praising the Lord that it is nothing more serious! Thank you all for your prayers.

I forgot to mention, the preliminary blood work came back just fine! They're doing another one at 10 p.m. this evening and one more at 4 in the morning, but the doctor is staying with her original prognosis. The blood was very, very red, not dark which it would be if something worse were wrong.

Her regular Doctor saw her awhile ago and believes it may be something else other than diverticulitis, like a large hemorrhoid. He's having a surgeon come by to talk with her and they're going to schedule a colonoscopy. He said to know for sure what it is is to go look, so it appears she may be in there a few days.

Thanks, Drew. The doctor has scheduled moms colonoscopy for first thing in the morning. I'll let everyone know the results as soon as I hear from her.
