Mom is back in the hospital. The diverticulitis reared its ugly head again yesterday. She started bleeding heavily yesterday evening so she called the ambulance, got her to the ER and they admitted her. Her hemoglobin count is down due to the loss of blood from last night and the nosebleed last week.
Please pray for a speedy recovery, thanks.

Doing better! She lost quite a bit of blood, and it's still trickling, so her hemoglobin count's down. Not enough for them to give her any though. A CAT scan showed a colon pocket (which we all have) ruptured...common in older folks with this ailment. Doctor put her back on solid food this morning and she's walking up and down the hall for exercise. Will probably be released Monday if the bleeding's stopped.

Okay, where do I begin: Mom continued to weaken throughout the afternoon and evening yesterday and at 10:30 p.m. felt as though she were going to pass out every time she would stand up. Paramedics were called and assessed she was dehydrated and was released too soon from the hospital. She was readmitted and pumped full of IV throughout the night.
She suggested to her doctor this morning about spending a few days in a nursing home to convalesce and regain her strength. He agreed wholeheartedly and is setting that up this morning.
So again, please pray for a speedy recovery, thanks.

Mom had a great first night back in her own bed. Home Health Care will provide daily assistance with things like house cleaning and grocery shopping till she feels like she can start getting out.
