My Mom called me last night and told me Dad was in the hospital. He had a stroke over the weekend, and refused to go in to the ER until yesterday (a bit of background, my Dad is a really really stubborn old goat). I cannot imagine how frustrated my Mom has been over the last few days.
Anyway, several tests including an MRI were done, and showed a mild stroke. Mom said that only his speech was effected, and she has been told that is easily treated with rehabilitation. He gets his carotid arteries checked for obstruction/constriction this morning. Please pray for my Dad's health, that he listens to the advice he is given, and pray for strength for my Mom. I know, they have been married over 50 years so she should be used to him by now; but this is a stressful situation and I cannot be there for her.
