[glow=red,2,300]John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.[/glow] In Daily Bread yesterday, Jetamine quoted these verses. They fit in perfectly with what happened to Hubby and I yesterday (another audit). No matter what triggered this audit, we remain in Christ, and get all of our strength from Him. We cannot endure anything without our Lord.
If we do not abide (or stay, or remain, or whatever you want to call it) in Christ, then we will not be able to stand in these times.
[glow=red,2,300]1Thess. 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.[/glow]
This verse is referring to a discussion about the return of Jesus and how those who have died will be there as well; but I find comfort throughout all of my Lord's words.

Some notes on John 14:15-15:17 Those who love the Lord are called to a life of obedience - keeping His ‘commandments’, keeping His ‘Word’(21,23). We cannot live this life in our own strength. Christ must make His home in us (23). Once He has come to live in us, we are to abide in Him (4). Jesus says to us, ‘Apart from me you can do nothing’(5). You cannot live the Christian life until Christ comes to live in you. ‘The Holy Spirit teaches us all things’(26). Christ’s ‘words’abide in us (7). We are called to a life of fruitfulness (15:5,15) - ‘the fruit of the Spirit’: ‘love, joy, peace...’(Galatians 5:22-23). Jesus loves us (21). He gives us His peace (27). He gives us His joy (11). Love, Joy, Peace: Let this ‘fruit’be seen in us. Let it be shared with others. ‘Love one another... Go and bear fruit... love one another’(15:12,16-17).
