Just got off the phone with my Dad, my Uncle Lavern has passed away. He's had leukemia for some time and recently developed pneumonia. He was under hospice care at home. Prayers for my Aunt Wilda, all their kids and the family and friends.

Lavern Ray Weaver was born August 12, 1931 at Clear Springs, MO the son of Archie Melvin Weaver and Alzada (Pruett) Weaver. He passed away February 18, 2015 at West Plains, MO at the age of 83 years.
He was united in marriage to Wilda Joan Beaty on June 5, 1955 at Arroll, MO and to this union ten children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Alzada Weaver; one sister Clione Bunce; one brother-in-law Lee Bunce; one daughter-in-law Angie Weaver; and one grandson Logan Dale Taber.
He is survived by his wife Wilda Weaver of Mountain View; ten children Teresa Wagoner and husband Dave of Nixa, MO, Dallas Ray Weaver and wife Paulette of Mountain View, MO, Nila Riddle and husband Bo of Arcadia, MO, Norita Underwood and husband Gary of Mountain Grove, MO, Vernon Weaver of Houston, MO, Brenda Weaver of Winona, MO, Amy Harris and husband Reggie of Mountain View, MO, Rachael Kempf and husband Junior of Mountain View, MO, Joni Meyer and husband Dan of Yutan, NE, and Sue Matthews and husband Justin of Mountain View, MO; two brothers Wesley Weaver and wife Mary of Mountain View, MO, Wayne Weaver and wife Mary Sue of Mountain View, MO; one sister Ollie Howard and husband James of Mountain View, MO; twenty-one grandchildren Nathan Hoff, Karen Faucett, Tiffany Stallsworth, Dustin Weaver, Vanessa Barton, Aaron Underwood, Justin Bales, Riley Weaver, Coy Stephens, Shelby Stephens, Emily Stephens, Jolyssa Pulliam, Elizabeth Taber, Ronnica Taber, Lucas Taber, Alex Kempf, Gabrielle Kempf, Jessica Meyer, Brooklyn Meyer, Cole Matthews, and Harper Matthews; eighteen great grandchildren Cody Faucett, Brayden Faucett, Calen Faucett, Andrew Faucett, Annabelle Hoff, Kennedy Stallsworth, Maddison Stallsworth, Josie Colter, Denver Weaver, Aubrey Weaver, Bria Barton, Blake Barton, Emma Underwood, Hazel Underwood, Scarlet Stephens, Liam Stephens, Wyatt Weaver, and Marley Brake, and a host of other family and friends.
Lavern attended Houston Rural School, and lived in the Mountain View area during his lifetime. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. During his wartime service, he drove an ambulance in Korea, and earned the National Defense Service Medal, The United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal. Lavern and his brothers owned and operated the Weaver Furniture Store on Main Street in Mountain View, MO many years ago. Lavern drove a school bus, and drove for Southwest Trucking along with working on his dairy farm. He was a talented woodworker and furniture maker, and would gather willow from the woods and make unique furniture.
Lavern was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed raising his family, and spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren. Shortly before his passing, Lavern shared with his family that he was ready to go home, and was going home to go fishing with his dad. Lavern will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View, MO.

Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mountain View, MO.
