As I am sure you have seen me mention that Gene's biological mother is in the hospital in West Plains with COPD and Emphysema. She is on iv antibiotics for an infection in her lungs. They did a test on her heart yesterday and it shows enlargement of both upper ventricles. It also shows a valve that is hardening and leaking. ( basically as the blood flows through the chambers of the heart the valves in the heart snap shut and the blood is pumped through the arteries,) hers snaps shut, but doesn't stay closed, it flutters and allows blood to back flow or regurgitate back into the chambers.
Her diagnosis for this admission is "Exacerbation of Congestive Heart Failure" (CHF), this is a new diagnosis. She is not a surgical candidate. So, not sure what we are looking at, Gene has not been able to talk with the doctor.
Not sure if assisted living is any longer an option, or if she will have rehab and the nursing home. We have tried multiple times get her to move in with us, but she does not want to live here.
Please be in prayer for wisdom in the decisions that are going to need to be made, and for her not to linger and suffer, if there is nothing they can do to help her. Pray for Gene and his half sister as they are in need of strength .
