We had a guest speaker at church tonight, private detective, minister who works with International Justice Missions. He helps rescue children from sex trafficking both abroad and here in the St Charles county area. Such a sad thing that these young lives are turned upside down and destroyed by pornography and sex. For many abroad it is the only way they think that they can survive. It is not because they choose this life it has been chosen for them. It is not new, has been around since time began. Never really thought of it as slavery, but it is ; never thought much about it locally, but it is here, in this country. Cities, both big and small, rural areas; no place is exempt from molestation, prostitution, incest. As sickening as it is, it is real,and many of us, myself included, have buried our heads in the sand, because it's easier than acknowledging the realness of this going on in our communities.
My heart is both troubled and saddened by this atrocity. Troubled because,by men and women simply viewing pornography on the Internet, lusting, they are contributing to the slavery of sex trafficking. It is the same as if they were the person performing the act. My heart breaks for both those who are being sold into this slavery and those who are in bondage to it.
You may be wondering why I posted this here, it is because as a body of Christ, (which I believe DIM Ministry members are,) I am asking you to be in prayer for this man, and the young lives that are being rescued from sex trafficking through this ministry. Not only are they rescuing these kids and helping them get justice; they are working with them and helping them find healing that only comes through Jesus.
Be prayerful for he spends much time in some "dark" places as he gathers information to help rescue these young eople.
Be prayerful, because this could be someone you know.
Be prayerful because this is most definately always; someone's son, daughter, brother, sister, grandchild, niece or nephew.
Be prayerful for this ministry,both here and abroad, for it is bringing hope to the hurting. Justice for those who are forced into a multi billion dollar industry. The hard part is already being done.
Surely, brothers and sisters in Christ, we can unite in prayer for strength for those on the front lines of this war against sexual slavery.
