You are going a bit fast here! I am having trouble keeping up with all this reading. ;D There's only about 200 books - shouldn't take you long. In college, I heard that some people that were told to read the Bible through in a semester (imagine being told to read the Bible in a Bible college!) - well, they would put the Bible in front of a fan and watch the pages as they turned. Can't do that on the internet ;D

Hah! Don't tell any veterinary students; they would be tempted to try that with a number of the dry, boring texts assigned for reading!

Opps, that sounds wrong--the Bible definitely isn't dry and boring! Except for the long lists of names and numbers in the OT.

If I can find it, I'll post this bit about the names of the patriarchs and the gospel message hidden in their names. It is somewhere - but my mind is getting more and more like duck's. I am so glad that I don't have false teeth or wear glasses (any more) - because I would be a toothless, squinty mess!

Thanks for finally posting the commentary about Song of Songs...tho I don't agree with Ironsides about the symbolism...I think Solomon made himself the villian and that the Shephard was the Lord. It is still a beautiful book that talks about the Lord's love for His Bride...the Church. Least that is how I read it. My Grandfather used to read from the Bible in the evenings and when we were there he read it to us. He had 5 grandaughters and when years later, I was studying Song of Songs, I realized my Grandfather never read that book to us and had to laugh. My Grandfather was a very straight laced Baptist born in Victorian times. My bet is that he never read it himself...even when he was alone, too racey. ;D

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I had another work on Song (actually, the one I promised you . . . but just as I started to work on it I found that it was published in England . . . and those folk don't give up nothing, their copyrights are in perpetuity.
Don't understand it . . . but there it is. Kind of sad, because most of their (and ours) Christian books are gathering perpetual dust in some dank closet, when they could be enjoyed and used to the Father's eternal glory.
