God bless you;
A wee-bit of winter's touch here-abouts.
7-10" of snow South of Council Grove,KS 30+ mph wind has left us with 3' drifts.
Pulled a Durango 4x4 out of the ditch with my old 2 wheel drive 3/4 ton with chains and a 1/2 ton of sand in the back. Was breaking drifts with the front bumper.
Will be plowing at first light. Will be 9 degrees tonight but praise God the wind is dying down.
32 car pile-up with one fatality closed I-70, may our Father be with all involved and minister to all in desperate need.

So sorry to hear about the one loss, could have been a lot worse in a pileup of that size. Right now here its raining..but 52 degrees outside. I'm beginning to think winter is gonna pass us up this year. I don't take well to cold weather anymore but it has it's purpose too...wish it would act more like wintertime. hope all stay safe, & warm!!

It was west of Topeka east of Manhatten. It had I-70 closed for I believe 11 hours.

So often in the winter I pray for snow. It is so beautiful coming down and walking down by the river with my dogs is like being a little closer to Heaven.
But God, please forgive me, I forget what trouble it can cause for others...
Praying for all those people...victims and rescue people, Doctors and nurses, and their families.

But God, please forgive me, I forget what trouble it can cause for others... Praying for all those people...victims and rescue people, Doctors and nurses, and their families. God bless you Sis; It is very lovely. I was out plowing yesterday from 4:30 AM until about 5:30 PM. There were several folks unable to leave their garages for the drifts. One was 4' deep from across the roadway to up against the doors. One couple looked like they had mounds of freshly whipped cream in their driveway. It makes the world a winter wonderland, and as I was driving into Council Grove to the bank, I saw four White-tailed deer trotting through a timber-covered hill covered in a blanket of snow. As I drove down into the creek valley with open fields, it was a picture postcard with the fields spread-out in white with four homes outlined against the hills. The first time I saw the Lake, after getting the job, the ground was covered in snow with a cluster of redbirds under the large cedar trees. Life can bring such tragedy, often through human error, but God brings such beauty and blessing with the snow. The blanket of snow provides protection and needed moisture for the winter wheat. The blanket of snow insures that the tall native grasses are laid down and the soil has moisture so we can burn safer in the spring. May our Father be with all who are in need, and bring caution and wisdom to those who travel and are not prepared. This is a picture of the old greybeard out on my tractor after plowing last year. Just the same old ugly feller this year: img366.imageshack.us/img366/293/tractor13zj.jpg
