I have always thought that aliens from outer space (also UFO's in general) are actually demons, because of their actions and behaviors. I know that I am not alone in this belief.
Given the recent increase with interest in alien (outer space) life, I have been thinking about these verses from Revelation (be patient, I'll make my point in a moment):
[glow=red,2,300]Revelation 12:7 Then a war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels fought back. Revelation 12:8 But it was not strong enough, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. Revelation 12:9 The huge dragon was thrown down. That ancient serpent, called devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world, was thrown down to the earth, and its angels were thrown down with it. [/glow]
I have always thought that these verses referred to a battle that occurs during the Tribulation (probably mid-way through); but could these verses refer to more than that time? Might these verses also refer to a time when Satan and his angels come to earth, pretending to be aliens from another planet?

There have been believers in UFO's that have talked about the connection between our nuclear weapons and alien life forms. If I remember correctly, the beliefs center around the idea that the life forms want us to get rid of our nuclear weapons.
And now, we have some people who have a reputation for being sane (at least one would think you have to be sane in order to fly a military aircraft!) who are claiming that alien life forms are deactivating nuclear warheads; and several governments are denying the fact.
What do you think about this? I tend to laugh this sort of thing off, so I wanted to ask some people who might not be quite as, well, close minded as I.

I vote demons also, the rubes of the "prince of the power of the air."

Absolutely Donna. The UFO/alien encounters over the years I believe are actually encounters with fallen angels.
As those verses you gave show, they and Satan still have access to God and are allowed to come and go as they please. They now have control over our atmosphere and world (Ephesians 2:2 & 6:12).
But at the Tribulation's mid-point they are cast to earth, thrown out of Heaven permanently (Revelation 12:8).

I have thought about what might happen should aliens actually contact our world. Looks like it will occur through the UN, given how they actually have an alien ambassador. My thoughts are that Christianity will not be tolerated by the aliens; if their arguments follow the current beliefs of the UFO-aliens-hate-nuclear-weapons crowd, Christians will probably be told that our beliefs are too archaic and that we must turn away from God. When I think of being asked to deny Christ, I think of the early Christian martyr, Polycarp. Polycarp, the venerable bishop of Smyrna, hearing that persons were seeking for him, escaped, but was discovered by a child. After feasting the guards who apprehended him, he desired an hour in prayer, which being allowed, he prayed with such fervency, that his guards repented that they had been instrumental in taking him. He was, however, carried before the proconsul, condemned, and burnt in the market place. The proconsul then urged him, saying, "Swear, and I will release thee;--reproach Christ." Polycarp answered, "Eighty and six years have I served him, and he never once wronged me; how then shall I blaspheme my King, Who hath saved me?" At the stake to which he was only tied, but not nailed as usual, as he assured them he should stand immovable, the flames, on their kindling the fagots, encircled his body, like an arch, without touching him; and the executioner, on seeing this, was ordered to pierce him with a sword, when so great a quantity of blood flowed out as extinguished the fire. But his body, at the instigation of the enemies of the Gospel, especially Jews, was ordered to be consumed in the pile, and the request of his friends, who wished to give it Christian burial, rejected. They nevertheless collected his bones and as much of his remains as possible, and caused them to be decently interred. -Fox's Book of Martyrs, by John Fox; Chapter 2, Part 1; The Ten Primitive Persecutions If I were to face such questions, it is my prayer that I would stand firm in my dedication to Christ.

...Christians will probably be told that our beliefs are too archaic and that we must turn away from God. I think when/if these fallen angels make public contact in the guise of 'aliens', they will claim they ARE God. After all, their leader Lucifer always wanted to be Him: "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High." (Isaiah 14:14)

Interesting topic but since I am on someone else's computer, I hesitate to get lengthy.
Revelation chapter 2, when Jesus addresses the church at Pergamos, He says that is where Satan's throne was located. Satan has a throne on earth.
It is thought, according to several essays that I have read, the throne is now located in Rome. Interesting evidence was given to back that presumption.
Donna, the book of Job also contains references to Satan and his fallen angels having access to the Throne Room of God in Heaven...he is the prince of this world and moves back and forth between Heaven and earth.... The only place he has never been is Hell and we know from the Bible that Hell is where he will spend eternity.
The study of the Angels, and of Satan, and the fallen angels is fasinating...
In the Bible are several references to giants. It is thought by some that the giants are the result of the fallen angels having intimate relations with the daughters of men. There are refernces to them in Genesis and Jude...facsinating. They appear in the Bible both before and after the flood which would indicate the fallen angels were active both before and after the flood. Goliath was a giant. There were giants on the mountain that Caleb took after the Hebrews returned to Canaan.
I also believe aliens are real and are either demons or fallen angels... A third of the Angels in Heaven followed Satan when he rebelled against God so there are plenty of fallen angels to go around. The Bible tells us that angels are as plentiful as the stars...so a third od the stars is alot.
I could go on and on...and when I get home and am on my own computer...I probably will.
;D

Thanks, Marilyn, I had read those things in the Bible but never made the connection.
This is a very fascinating subject.
