Ran across a saying on GotQuestions.org to which they had no answer. I thought maybe I did so e-mailed them with it...
Here is my e-mail and their answer. What do ya'll think?

Question 183821: I have a possible answer to one of your questions... "You will not know the season except by the budding of the trees." I had heard that expression so many times but could never find it in the Bible. One day while reading I ran across a possibility. Your writer didn't know the source either. It is possible that it comes from Luke 21:29-31. It is a reference to the end times... "And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand." Luke 21:29-31 Israel or the Fig Tree is now a nation again after almost 2000 years, so we should know by the budding of the tree what season it is... Time to look to the East, the Lord approaches. Amen! Could that be the source of the saying...?
Answered by: Shea
Answer: Yes, that may be the source. The problem is that it does not say exactly what people are looking for regarding the seasons. It is close, but not precisely the same thing. Even if Luke 21:29-31 is what people are thinking of, what we are trying to discover is why so many people think it says something that it does not say. Thank you for your help!

I would agree with your summation but the answer you got kind of made me think of one of those arcade games where the ball gets knocked all over the place and gets whacked by a bunch of paddles and only ends up falling into the hole. Don't know what she meant by . . . "we are trying to discover is why so many people think it says something that it does not say" . . . it appears that she is probably not a pretrib believer so the application would not make sense to her, especially if she does not recognize that God is not through with the Jews.

I was puzzled by the answer and started to answer the writer back and then thought first maybe I would run it by ya'll. Thought maybe I was reading the answer wrong...
but I see what you are saying...probably not pre-trib and/or does not reconize that the Jews are the Bride of Jehovah and He has temporarily set them aside but is not nearly thru with them.
Or doesn't understand that Jesus is coming back a second time? And He left us with some things to look for?
naw...couldn't be that. But that is clearly what we are looking for.

I guess it is best to just let it be then. If they don't get it they probably won't get it no matter how it is explained.

Oh yes, I absolutely Love it when the HOLY SPIRIT intervenes. Can I judge these statements? Yes Should I? NO Why the soul state is off limits. I can judge by what is said, but not how it is said. After that the spirits are tested, we must choose the result with prayerful guidance. To that end: It is Up to you to choose wisely. Being mindful that our enemy is wating at every moment for intrusion. Remember the mouse. It only needs a 1/4 inch and can then exact real destruction. Just a thought

The reason so many think the Bible says it is because the Bible is a very misquoted book. Things like God helps those who help themselves are not in the bible but people think they are. God bless.
