"For one thing,it was a day of moral degeneration.Intellectually, mankind was stagnant.People were spiritually cold and lethargic.Dishonesty, immorality, and oppression abounded.Family life was falling apart. Most educated people despaired of ever discovering the truth.Skepticism prevailed.People lived only to squeeze as much pleasure out of life as they could.Among the Gentiles, the rich were frightfully rich and most of the poor were becoming poorer. As a result,an empty feeling of hopelessness hung over the Gentile world.Even among the Jews, religion had become traditional and ritualistic;not vital and life-changing. Yet there was an indescribable feeling in the air that something religiously significant was about to happen."
This was written years ago by a Christian writer describing the time just before John The Baptist came on the scene.Very interesting don't you think?

When the disciples asked Jesus if Elijah must come first before the Day of the Lord and the Kingdom (Malachi 4:5),He told them if the nation had accepted Christ and the Kingdom,John the Baptist would have fulfilled that prophecy.Matt.11:11-14. I believe the two witnesses in the tribulation, will fulfill that prophecy of Elijah coming first and if the times we are living are comparable to the times of John the Baptist, then I think that time is near.
BUT the rapture comes first,so if it is almost time for the forerunners to come, then our leaving the scene is even closer. PERHAPS TODAY

Vander Lugt's assessment of John's time is frighteningly identical to today. So from your mouth to God's ears brother Bud...perhaps today. Amen!

That is an amazing quote to me; because it does fit today so very well.
