Working on the SS lesson for this Sunday...It gives me a great springboard for re-visiting where Jesus was for those 3 days and 3 nights...
Lesson is on the thief on the Cross next to Jesus.
Thank you Lord...for what you did on the Cross and shortly there after... and for loading my shotgun!
Amen!
It is almost as if I can picture us sitting under a tree...Jesus perched on a rock with my shotgun across His knees. Me on the grass at His feet asking, "Lord, where were you really during those 3 days?"
He answered by loading my shotgun...with the answer. Said He went to Hades, preached to the spirits there, and led to OT saints to Heaven! Amen!
Thank you, Lord.

Substitute was a no-show. But the rest of the SS class listened and I saw alot of heads nodding in affirmation... felt good about that...they are not buying the baloney... I got next Sunday too...last lesson in Luke. Then we move back into the OT again...Joshua, Judges and Ruth... Joshua 1 is one of my favorite chapters of any book in the Bible. Tells us what God has provided is already ours...all we have to do is go possess it.

Is there any way that you can ask for a class election. Let the class chose who they want their teacher to be . . . full time . . . and let the chips fall. The one benefit that I think will come of it is that one liberal will get her nose bent out of shape and go find herself a nice liberal church all of her own.
Who knows, though, but that God can work in her cold, dead heart and bring revival to it. Then you can go back to sharing the class, after she repents and apologizes to the class.

Won't work for a variety of reasons but I have already said something to son in law who is a deacon. If it keeps up will say something to the Director of SS...and to other deacons.
Have already talked to the Lord about it. It's a bit of a "sticky wicket."

The excitment as it turns out...wasn't in my SS class but was in another. Seems the interim submitted his resume to the Pastor Search Committee and it was rejected out of hand. The chairman of the committee told the interim yesterday and it seems from the skuttlebutt I am hearing...there were some fireworks...
It would be best if the interim just left now...before he does damage to the church.

"Ye shall know them..."
I knew the first time I shook hands with him...like shaking hands with a wet limp rag, no grip. And thought when I looked at his wife... uh hugh...Ahab and Jezebelle.
Looks like I was right...
The cracks in his veneer were already showing a few Sundays back. He accused someone of "messing" with his SS materials. He teaches the teen class. Instead of talking with the children and explainning to them...he locked the SS room door saying he had alot of money tied up in the materials...
To him it is about money? and he locks the kids out?
"Would be better for him...were a millstone..."
He told one of the teens that she was a thief because she downloaded music from the internet...
and on and on it goes.
Like the old TV show..."Drizzle, drassel, drussle, drom...time for this one to go home." Mr. Wizzard.
Remember that one?
;D

Bye interim! (what was that about the door on the way out?)
Hopefully this church has had its first and last of a liberal preacher, and will hunt for someone that will preach out of both barrels, without a care what varmint it hits. In a church, you are either going to hear "amens" . . ., or yelps . . . depending on what kind of animal is on the receiving end.

Hopefully this church has had its first and last of a liberal preacher... On a scary note though, this guy's going to end up somewhere that will accept him and his false teachings.

hopefully someone, whoever might be looking at him...will contact Alton and ask why he didn't stay...
and the person who they contact will tell the truth...
it wasn't that I heard so much false teaching as it was uninspired...he was vomiting back things he learned in textbooks...
no fire...no Holy Spirit like with Dennis...who retired.
speaks to something worse than teaching false doctrine...

That's right. Choir practice is right after that...that's how everybody knows.
Don't know what is going to happen. He submitted his resume to the Pastor Search Committee and they voted unnamaousssely(sp, but you can already tell that... ;D ) not to accept it...
The chair of the Search Committee told him last Sunday. He seems to have stepped on too many toes...prime example of "ye shall know them."
rotten peaches...but I feel compelled to pray for him. Asking ya'll to pray too.

If that doesn't send them a message they're too blind to see. What gets me is their reaction: Anger. Not preacher material, as far as I'd be concerned. And yes, they need prayer.
