“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

“For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ” (II Corinthians 1:5).

“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed” (II Corinthians 4:8, 9).

“If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26).

“He is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth: He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness. He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light” (Job 33:24-26, 28 ).

"Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday" (Psalm 91:3-6).

My Dear Husband said something last night that I really liked: "God has said that everything happens for a reason. I don't know why we are suffering with this drought, but I trust God will make something good happen through this."
Like the writer of Psalm 91 said, no matter what you see happening around you, God will take care of you.

Here is one that we can really appreciate! “ The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me” (Psalm 116:6). ;D

“Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety” (1Timothy 2:15).
I understand this verse to be speaking, not of spiritual salvation, but of physical . . . as the best insurance policy of old age is to have plenty of children to see to her needs after she has faithfully brought them up in the things of the Lord. Even today, children with sound biblical training are not standing in line to shove their old parents into nursing homes, but are shouldering their care with joy and a sense of responsibility. These are true in every home where the parents continued in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety; that is, living their faith in front of their children and setting the right example.

“Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb” (Genesis 49:25).
