This is the type of message which gets passed around on such sites as Face Book and through e-mails. It sounds like all sweetness and light. 2 Cor. 11: 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. 1) Nowhere in the Bible does it speak of numbers of angels specific to the individual, or that angels sleep or play. This statement is outside of Biblical understanding and if supernaturally given is not given by God. 2) The message is devoid of any mention of Christ Jesus our Lord. Its emphasis is upon angels rather than the One who is the only way to God. 3) This message is not in reference to the God of the Bible but to a diluted generic “god”, palatable to those who are separated from the true God and desire to manipulate their reality using a form of witchcraft, which declares that if you do “this” specific action then good fortune will come your way. 4) This type of message turns God into some type of Heavenly vending machine, dispensing blessings at the will of man when the right combination of words and phrases is inserted, regardless of the inserter’s relationship to Christ and personal Biblical worldview. Insert this message, and blessings are guaranteed. 5) There is more than one type of angel, and not one of the departed humans ever is transformed into a guardian angel for the individual. There are angels who serve God, and there are the third of the angels who were led in rebellion by Satan and are serving not the God of Heaven but the god of this world. Messages which are given which are contrary to the eternal truth of God can be sourced in the god of this world who would deceive from the very first man and woman unto this very day, who tempted the Lord in the wilderness, and would turn the unlearned away from the True God.

God is not some warm and fuzzy grandfatherly "man upstairs", a heavenly vending machine waiting to dispense blessings and dependent upon the whimsy of man for His existence and dispensation. Too many pay lip-service to "godly" things, without having a clue as to Who He really is, and embrace error in their cavalier accepting of spiritual matters without knowledge or understanding of His eternal Truth.
Proverbs 9: 10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
The fear of the Lord is reverential awe of the LORD GOD Creator, and Sustainer of the universe, omnipotent all powerful, omniscience all knowing, omnipresent, everywhere at once, far beyond anything we can ever know or ever comprehend.
We believe in one living and true God who is the Creator of heaven and earth; who is eternal, almighty, unchangeable, infinitely powerful, wise, just and holy.
We believe that the one God eternally exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and that these three are one God, co-equal and co-eternal, having precisely the same nature and attributes, and worthy of precisely the same worship, confidence, and obedience. Matthew 3:16, 17; Matthew 28:19, 20; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3, 4; II Corinthians 13:14.
We believe in God the Father, Creator and Sustainer of all things, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; that He sent His Son into the world; that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Genesis 1:1; Psalms 7:9; Matthew 5:48; John 3:16; Acts 13:17-25; Acts 14:15-17; Acts 17:24-28.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and is fully God and fully Man. We believe that our redemption has been accomplished solely by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was made to be sin, and made a curse for us, dying in our place that we might be forgiven. We believe that He died not only for our sins, but also for the sins of the entire world. We believe that He was raised from the dead in bodily form and that He ascended into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father interceding for us.
We believe in the personal, bodily, imminent and pre-millennial return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His Church and His subsequent millennial reign over restored Israel and the kingdoms of the world. Luke 1:30-35; 2:7; John 1:1-4; Romans 9-11; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:13-19; Hebrews 1:1-3; I Peter 3:18; I Corinthians 15:3-7; Hebrews 7:25; Acts 1:11, 15:14-17; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I John 2:2.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is not merely an influence, but a divine Person; that He is the source and power of all acceptable worship and service and is our abiding Counselor and Helper. We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs at the moment of conversion and is that act whereby believers are united with Christ as part of His body; that the Holy Spirit permanently indwells all believers in Christ; that He will never depart from the Church nor from the weakest believer; that by His indwelling the believer is enabled to live a godly life. John 14:16,17; 16:13-15; Acts 1:8; 5:3,4; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 6:19; 12:13; Galatians 5:22,23.

Sounds like a prime example of 2 Timothy 4:3 to me...
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. "
These types of things are all over FB these days...very disturbing, but you can't tell people anything today...they just go off in a huff.

Yep...have a favorite story about my new old friend and sister Virginia, from North Carolina. We go to the beach for a couple of weeks every fall. We used to rent a cottage that didn't have a washer and dryer so that made a trip to a laundary-mat necessary.
One fall some years back...we had put our washing in and had sat down to read and wait when Virginia, a tall, very loud, black woman showed up. She was talking about Jesus to everyone and to anyone in her path. She told an amazing story of a brain tumor that almost killed her and how she owed her recovery to Jesus and would spend the rest of her days talking about Him. She went right down the line...people politely listened to Virginia, but you couldn't help but listen...she was loud and talked non-stop...nobody could get a word in.
She got to us...I don't know what the expression on my face was or what gave me away...all of a sudden she shouted..."You is a sista! You is a sista!"...I said" I reckon I am...." and smiled...well she kept on talking and all I could get in was a head nod and an occassional Amen.
But I worried that she had stopped at me and went no further preaching the Gospel at the top of her lungs...but then it occured to me that everyone was listening to us and watching...a short, plump, white haired white lady, and a tall thin, loud, fast talking black lady...Gospel was being told and demonstrated...
She told me that she preached the Gospel where ever she went to everyone. I asked her what happens when someone doesn't want to hear...she said..."I tells 'em anyway."
When the laundary was finished and we got ready to leave Virginia said I'll see ya on the other side, in Glory land...I said I will be lookin' for ya.
I have never forgotten Virginia from North Carolina, my new old friend and sister...who preachers the Gospel in laundary-mats...
When you get to Heaven and if we are both there by that time...it will be easy to spot us...she is the tall, skinny, loud, fast talking black lady and I will be the short plump, white haired white lady shoutin Amen!
I have always taken what Virginia from North Carolina said to heart...and no matter what "I tells 'em anyway!"
;D

This is the type of message which gets passed around on such sites as Face Book and through e-mails. And the same kind of thing promoted by TBN, most of their 'Pastors' and the rest of the 'name it and claim it' crowd. They use God like a divine ATM machine: 'Send in the right amount a money and He will cure all your ills! Health, happiness and prosperity are yours for the buying...I mean, asking!'

If I had to perform a song and dance of any type to receive a blessing from God, I would never receive a blessing of any kind!
If I had to perform certain duties in order for God to pay attention to me, I would always be afraid that I was not doing it correctly.
If I had to perform certain action(s) in order for God to respond to my needs, I would miss the opportunity and suffer loss as a result.
I need God to be everywhere, know everything, and then make all the necessary decisions to act in a way that benefits me the most. I look at the decisions I have made; I can see the ones in which I did not include God are the decisions that I regret the most.
