2 Corinthians 5:
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not fo
r that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Romans 13:
11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Galatians 3:
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Revelation 7:
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
The original parents of all mankind dwelt in the Garden, and were without sin, and were clothed in the righteousness of the LORD GOD. When they were tempted and gave into the temptation they found themselves naked, no longer clothed in God's righteousness, and they sought in vain to cover themselves by their own merits, and failed. God sacrificed the first animal to cloth them, the first sacrifice for sin.
As we have repented, and opened our hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ, we put on Christ, we are found clothed in His righteousness, before the Throne of God. The Law was given through Moses as a measuring tool, a yardstick of righteousness as teacher to show man that all have sinned and fallen far short of the Glory of God. To show each of us that on our own there is NONE righteous, no not one.
Jesus of Nazareth, the Lord God manifest in the flesh, the Son of God Who left the Glory of Heaven and was born a wee-babe in a manger, and lived, grew-up, and walked and taught among men, was the only man in all of the annals of history Who could ever keep the Law perfectly. As lambs without blemish were sacrificed centuries before, and their blood applied to the doors of the Children of Israel, that the Angel of Death might pass over on the night of Judgement, Jesus of Nazareth in His perfect keeping of God's Law became our Passover Lamb, without the stain of sin, that when our robes of sin are washed in the Blood of the Lamb they become the righteousness of Christ, white and pure.
Dearly beloved of God, our entrance into Glory is not based upon attaining a certain level of merits, having our good practices out-weigh our bad. We are not given granted eternity in the Throne-room of God, our mansion in the Father's House, by having more good marks then bad.
Dearly Beloved the judgement of God is either or, a pass or fail, entrance or denial of based SOLELY upon whether we have placed our faith and trust in Christ Jesus our Lord. If we have opened our hearts to Him, and been born again and clothed in the righteousness of Christ, we become the children of God through the Spirit of adoption, and on that Day we will be welcomed Home.
No matter how many worldly good deeds we have done, no matter how many good merits we have accrued in the eyes of human society, if in our heart we have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ we will be found naked before the Throne of God, we have condemned ourselves, and the fires of His eternal judgement await.
John 3:
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Dearly Beloved the distant Day of Judgement is coming, the certainty of eternity is before each one of us. There is no life after life after life until we "get it right" on our own merits. There is no praying the sinner into Heaven after they have died. The decision for Christ Jesus is facing each one of us, and is ours alone to make, before we die. God has NO grandchildren, and we do not inherit righteousness from our parents, nor have it bestowed upon us in some church ritual. The ONLY way of being clothed in the righteousness which is Christ's alone, is for each of us to individually place our faith and trust in Him.
Dearly Beloved we have no guarantee of tomorrow, nor even of the next breath we take or the next beating of our heart. Please consider the case for Christ as he is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and the ONLY Way to God, and the only Source of Righteousness for all mankind. May our Father move and minister in all hearts and lives this day, may He drop the scales from eyes so blind, and break the shackles from hearts enchained, and set the children free, in Jesus' name.
