I am so glad that even when we don't know what to pray the Lord knows what is in our hearts. I don't know what to pray in this matter except that the Lord will come and calm the storm in my heart.
I was so excited to hear that the Pastor Search committee voted on the last Preacher they went to hear and to meet in Winchester and it was unamious. He is going to come preach at our church on October 14th. Our old Pastor who just retired is going to preach Homecoming the week before.
I thought that bode well...and maybe things were going to work out...
Then I got an e-mail from my daughter...they went to preaching today. We have been skipping preaching. She said the tension is incredible. She fears that members will show up to vote who haven't come to church in years...and the worse that could happen will happen...
I have continued on with SS...because I didn't want to leave a friend in the lurch. It is a small church and not many willing to teach. Also promised some people I would sit tight till I saw how the thing was going to go...I will keep that promise...
But when the vote is taken if the new pastor is not passed...and they vote the interim in...I will get up and walk out.
I know ya'll are tired of hearing about this...but not as tired as I am of waiting for it to resolve. Lord will lead and I will let the vote determine the out come for me...it is coming two weeks later on October 28th. I don't know why the delay.
As I said I don't know what to pray...except to just sit quietly and to listen...Lord will lead and I have some peace in just knowing that.
