"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you." Philippians 4:8-9after thought...

Sorry, I couldn't resist it!
And the verses really help. People are getting very difficult. My challenge is to not follow their lead, and continue to follow Christ's lead instead.

Devil is always attacking us...but what we can't see is what Elisha's servant couldn't see...the army of Angels camped in the hills...
Guarding us...

My goodness, it is extremely dry. Our trees are wilting. Never before have I seen a tree wilt. I used to read this verse in Revelation and I could not understand what the earth would look like with so many green plants dead. I think that the conditions in this drought has given us a small picture of how things will look after this judgement. Without the hail, fire, and blood, of course.
(Revelation 8:7) The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mixed with blood, and they were cast on the earth. And the third part of trees was burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
And people are getting worse. Like Marilyn posted earlier in this thread, we have just about worn out these verses, but the next little story I have demostrates these verses rather well.
(2 Timothy 3:1) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
(2 Timothy 3:2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
(2 Timothy 3:3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
(2 Timothy 3:4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
A man cut down all the hay from the one field that we need to feed our cows for the year. This man has refused to replace the hay, so far. Hay is next to impossible to find in this drought!

BILLY GRAHAM: “MY HEART ACHES FOR AMERICA”; New letter addresses nation’s declining morality and the need for spiritual revival July 24, 2012 America is in grave danger. The massacre in Aurora. The child sex abuse scandal at Penn State. The scourge of abortion and pornography and runaway spending and debt in Washington. The list tragically goes on an on. In Implosion, I try to document how serious the situation is, and how a Third Great Awakening is the only answer. In this context, I am encouraged by a new open letter to America written by Dr. Billy Graham. He makes some excellent points. Here are excerpts. Please read them, pray over them, and share them with as many as you can. Pastors, would you consider reading excerpts from Dr. Graham’s letter at your Wednesday service this week? Would you consider turning your mid-week service into a call to prayer, fasting and repentance, along the lines of 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Joel chapter 2? America urgently needs a wake up call, beginning with the Church. May Christ Jesus use you to preach a clear message of repentance, and to lead the congregation you shepherd before the throne of grace to seek God’s mercy on our country before it is too late. ————————– Some years ago, my wife, Ruth, was reading the draft of a book I was writing. When she finished a section describing the terrible downward spiral of our nation’s moral standards and the idolatry of worshiping false gods such as technology and sex, she startled me by exclaiming, “If God doesn’t punish America, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.” She was probably thinking of a passage in Ezekiel where God tells why He brought those cities to ruin. “Now this was the sin of … Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen” (Ezekiel 16:49–50, NIV). I wonder what Ruth would think of America if she were alive today. In the years since she made that remark, millions of babies have been aborted and our nation seems largely unconcerned. Self-centered indulgence, pride, and a lack of shame over sin are now emblems of the American lifestyle. Just a few weeks ago in a prominent city in the South, Christian chaplains who serve the police department were ordered to no longer mention the Name of Jesus in prayer. It was reported that during a recent police-sponsored event, the only person allowed to pray was someone who addressed “the being in the room.” Similar scenarios are now commonplace in towns across America. Our society strives to avoid any possibility of offending anyone—except God. Yet the farther we get from God, the more the world spirals out of control. My heart aches for America and its deceived people. The wonderful news is that our Lord is a God of mercy, and He responds to repentance. In Jonah’s day, Nineveh was the lone world superpower—wealthy, unconcerned, and self-centered. When the Prophet Jonah finally traveled to Nineveh and proclaimed God’s warning, people heard and repented. I believe the same thing can happen once again, this time in our nation. It’s something I long for, and my son Franklin recently shared a vision for perhaps the greatest challenge in the history of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association—to launch an outreach called My Hope with Billy Graham that would bring the Gospel into neighborhoods and homes in every corner of America next year. flashtrafficblog.wordpress.com/

I have been scared at times lately; I feel like I am standing on the edge of a cliff, about to fall over. I thought of a story that I posted, but had lost the book. So I found the thread again. Why does the Lord want us to study Bible prophecy? Well, imagine it is a lazy summer day. A Christian man is floating in his boat along a peaceful river. He is relaxed, enjoying the warm sunshine. Then he hears the Lord say to him, “My son, I need to warn you that there are troubles waiting for you up river. When you come around a bend in this river, you are going to notice there are some treacherous rocks sticking out of the water. It is going to get turbulent, and waves are going to crash over the bow of your boat. I want you to look around because there are going to be some very specific markers along the shoreline that are going to help you determine where you are on this river. Your boat will begin to take on water and slowly start to sink. Then you will notice a waterfall up ahead; a waterfall more frightening than Niagara Falls. And your boat is going to reach the very brink of the fall.” This is when our friend in the boat interrupts, and with a trembling voice asks the Lord why He is telling him all the “negative” stuff. But the Lord encourages him by saying, “I want you to know that before your boat goes over that waterfall, you are to look up, because I am going to reach down from heaven at that moment, and in the twinkling of an eye I am going to pull you up out of that boat, so that where I am, you may be also! I want you to remember, my son, your hope is not in that boat. It is in Me!”

In another running gun battle with an athiest. They hate God...and there is no hope for them but still what they are saying is so damaging that it is not possible to stay silent.
Some are passive aggressive and some aggressive...both are frustrating to deal with and I don't know why I try...except to straighten out what they have wrong so that others won't trip and fall...
I have tried to avoid the battle...but all I can pray is Praise the Lord and keep passing me the Ammo, I pray.
In Jesus Name, Amen!
