"It's great that God is eternal. He's got time to wait for us to come around. Problem is, we can only reject Him in a temporal age, and once that age is past, He will reject us in His age. He is ageless.."

Still praying and musing over a situation. Waiting on the Lord requires patience and I have a very short supply of it. On the Sundays I am not teaching and don't have my granson I have been going back to my old church...
It is a beautiful old church with huge stained glass windows. The pews are like family pews and people so often sit like they live...neighbor next to neighbor. I sit in the last pew on the right side next to people who were neighbors of my parents and grandparents. I am comfortable there. It is farmiliar territory.
I look across the congregation and know just about everyone there and am related to quite a few by blood or by marriage. I am beginning to wonder why I left...
I am asking the Lord can I just go home now? I am not getting an answer just yet, so I wait.
Amen.

You'll never have hands filled with the things of God until you're willing to empty them of the things of the world.

Brought to mind this passage from Revelation
'...they loved not their lives unto the death." Revelation 12:11

“I am persuaded that men think there is no God because they wish there were none. They find it hard to believe in God, and to go on in sin, so they try to get an easy conscience by denying his existence.” –Charles Spurgeon

We have all heard this one,
"Many say, "I can worship God at the golf course just as much as the church" or some might say the ball field or the lake. That's actually true? So, the question might be "Is that your intention when you go out there?" Really? Do you take your Bible and a hymnal? Do you spend time with the people you go with in worship, prayer, coming under the Word of God via teaching, and praising God in song? Do you take up an offering for the Lord? Do you have the Lord's Supper, or just beer and chips? It's not about what you can do; it's about what you intend to do.
Most go out to play golf, play ball or swim / boat. You CAN worship the Lord outside of a church building -- and we SHOULD worship Him everywhere -- but let's not call it one thing and clearly act out something else.
If you plan on worshipping God at the golf course, leave the clubs at home, so you won't be distracted."

The Glaucus atlanticus sea slug "And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. " Genesis 1:20-23What always amazes me and puts me in awe is His attention to the details... Beautiful...

Thought Tim put this very well...
"I am offended by the lack of God in public proceedings. Now, an atheist might say they are offended when God is put into public proceedings. So, what happens? One offended person complains and something happens, but another offended person complains and nothing happens. Typically, one atheist will complain and stop prayer from heading an event, and the unoffended have to just suck it up. However, if one is offended that God is NOT included, they're just told "that's the law." Hogwash. IT IS NOT THE LAW. The Law is that we have freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM it. This might explain why I'm not invited to speak at "public functions." I can no more separate God from who I am than I can stop breathing. About the only way you could stop me from speaking His name, or praying in Jesus name, or from having Scripture inform my speaking is to invite me to a silent auction. I am a disciple of Jesus. I am not ashamed of that. IF His name offends you, I am not sorry. He used to offend me, too! Sometimes, He still does! However, I've found He is life to me, and I will not turn away from Him. GOD, BLESS AMERICA until we have sense enough to BLESS YOU again someday."

Good advice for living in the world today...
"Believer, it is one thing to go among those who mock God and scoff at the things of God for the purpose of building relationships and living the example of righteousness, but it's another thing altogether to walk among that crowd as one of them. Be careful to be known as a missionary or you will become considered a participant."

"We do not see things as they are. We see them as we are.” The Talmud
or
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. " Proverbs 3:5-6
Good stuff to think on...

Hey, I need some advice. I have come to ask my elders. You see, we are beginning to see farmers sell their cattle. People we know. It is sad. People closing their business. Friends out of work. Family members abducting children. The sick and/or elderly denied medical care. And no one seems to care!! I guess I just need some reassusance. The child abduction situation really shook me up. It is one of my clients, and everything is OK now. Many different authorities involved. I am not used to witnessing such things happen around me. I thought of this verse: (Psalms 91:7) A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; it shall not come near you.

What you have described Donna are the times in which we live and Paul said they were coming...
"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. " 1 Timothy 3:1
Keith has just about worn that one out but that is because it is true...just take a look at what happened in Colorado today.
but this is my Favorite when I am troubled like you are...vexed like Lot was...world is closing in on us...and we see nothing but destruction and evil...
"Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
...
For the Lord will not cast off for ever: But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men." Lamentations 3:19-26; 31-34
