Here is some more from a fellow named Gotthold:
“For my part, my soul is like a hungry and thirsty child; and I need His love and consolation for my refreshment.
- I am a wandering and lost sheep; and I need Him as a good and faithful shepherd. - My soul is like a frightened dove pursued by the hawk; and I need His wounds for a refuge. - I am a feeble vine; and I need His cross to lay hold of, and to wind myself about. - I am a sinner; and I need His righteousness. - I am naked and bare; and I need His holiness and innocence for a covering. - I am ignorant; and I need His teaching: - simple and foolish; and I need the guidance of His Holy Spirit.
"In no situation, and at no time, can I do without Him.
- Do I pray? He must prompt, and intercede for me. - Am I arraigned by Satan at the divine tribunal? He must be my Advocate. - Am I in affliction? He must be my Helper. - Am I persecuted by the world? He must defend me. - When I am forsaken, He must be my support; - when I am dying, my life: - when moldering in the grave, my Resurrection.
"Well, then, I will rather part with all the world, and all that it contains, than with Thee, my Saviour. And, God be thanked! I know that Thou, too, are neither able nor willing to do without me. Thou art rich; and I am poor. Thou hast abundance: and I am needy. Thou hast righteousness; and I sins. Thou hast wine and oil; and I wounds. Thou hast cordials and refreshments; and I hunger and thirst.
“Use me, then, my Saviour, for whatever purpose, and in whatever way, Thou mayest require.
- Here is my poor heart, an empty vessel; fill it with Thy grace. - Here is my sinful and troubled soul; quicken and refresh it with Thy love. - Take my heart for Thine abode; - Take my mouth to spread the glory of Thy name; - Take my love and all my powers, for the advancement of Thy believing people;
"And never suffer the steadfastness and confidence of my faith to abate—that so at all times I may be enabled from the heart to say, ‘Jesus needs me, and I Him; and so we suit each other.’”

The 21st has dawned...and in a few hours will have passed and will be gone. It is almost a disappointment when we get perched on the edge of our seats just watching and anticipating seeing the Hand of God move on this earth only to see the moment come and go with out a Word from the Heavens...
and the heathens rage on and the injustice and horrors mount up in towering piles of stink...surely the stench of it reaches Heaven...
How long O Lord will the heathen rage?

BOONIES!!!
You have been very much on my mind lately. We just passed West's 63rd birthday and I thought of you. Since then have kept you in my prayers because I realized I haven't heard from you in so long.
Please know you are much loved and I miss your wit and wisdom...just like I miss my old friend West, I miss my new friend Boonies!
I will keep you in my prayers...let me know how you are doing.
Did I ever tell you my favorite cousin's name is Beverley?

Stupid computer. I had typed (what I thought) was a poetic piece about coming to the cave so that I could see things clearly through God instead of trying to look through life's events, and it all disappeared when I accidentally hit the wrong key. I guess I should say, "Clumsy me" instead of blaming it on a machine. Oh well.
I have come to the cave today so that I can see life clearly. I will get depressed and tired of life if I do not spend time with God every day.

Last week, while attending a veterinary conference, two of the speakers drew my attention. One was Dr. Kenneth Peterson, the assistant director of the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service. I learned that the USDA has control of the entire food system in its sights, including the little child's lemonade stand. The other speaker who drew my attention was Dr. Linda R. Tollefson, the director of the FDA's new office in Brussels, Belgium. This office exists to enable the FDA to become a part of a (yes, she said this) "one world government". Since it quickly became apparent that these different government officials will barely look at one another, and can't stand to be in the same room together, I doubt that we will see any one world government until someone with charisma unites them. But it scares me to see just how much of a one world system is already in place. By the way, this part of the conference was called "One World, One Health".
So I came to the cave so I keep my eyes on God.

earthquakes and volcanoes-the earth knows the Lord is coming near,
"For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now." Romans 8:22
The earth is quivering and shaking at His approach. If just His coming near causes such a reaction by the earth what will be the effect of the Lord breaking into time from eternity?
Can you picture the earth's reaction?
"And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so great. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great." Revelation 16:17-21
Might look something like that.

I have heard the expressions so many times, "You will not know the season except by the budding of the trees," and have wondered where that is found in the Bible. I looked and looked and asked others and they looked and looked but none of us could find it or anything like it referring to the end times.
Not long ago I was reading in Luke and came across this passage,
"And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. " Luke 21:29-31
I think it is possible that is where the expression comes from. It does relate to the end times but not like people were trying to apply it. It is referring to the rebirth of Israel. When we see the trees budding we know that summer is on it's way.
When we saw Israel become a nation again after almost 2000 years then we should know what season it is and Who is coming...

Every once and a while something really special happens and this Christmas Eve might be one of those times.
Every year I read either Luke 2 or the account in Matthew, remembering the first time the Lord came to earth...
Then on Christmas day I read about how He is coming again from different passages in the Bible. This year I think I am going to read about the folded napkin...in the tomb. Our Father created the galaxies but He also created the ameoba...attention to details.
Last night I over heard my 7 year old granddaughter reciting Luke 2. She recited the whole thing without stopping.
I asked her if she remembered what I did on Christmas Eve. She said she did so I asked her this year if she would recite it for us. She said she would.
Yep! Something special is going to happen this year and I pray for many years after. My Becks is going to tell the story of how the Lord of Glory came to earth to save us.
Amen!

I have a calendar that I have really enjoyed this year. It is full of pictrues of my favotite breed of dog, Golden Retrievers. Along with each picture is a little something about dogs and our relationship with them and theirs with us.
This month's is especially good I think, and goes like this...
"Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring,
it was peace."
Amen.
"And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof." Genesis 2:19
I think Adam named the dog...friend, and the friend dog curled up at Adam's feet and laid down and became a companion. Even though the dog was not enough for Adam as friend and companion, the dog was very close.

I have the holiday blues. My husband and I will not be together this year; we are both moping around like love-sick teenagers. I will be in Missouri with my parents. I am looking forward to it, but .........sigh...........Hubby has to stay with the cattle/donkey/chickens/ducks/turkeys/dogs/cats. Now, if the inside cats produce any hairballs, Hubby will probably fall over in a faint. Good thing we never had any children, because a dirty diaper would probably have caused permanent damage to his mental state! The IRS is giving us heck again. We are in the appeals process, which is supposed to be easy on people. Yeah, right. Still the 10 day deadlines, with the same difficulty receiving information. Now the IRS is releasing our private information. Sorry about the rant. Anyone have any good jokes? I can use a good laugh.

Your husband sounds like my daughter...she would also faint dead away at even the sign of, well you know.
I was feeling sorry for myself too, my son will be away till the 24th...he is going to dash in and dash out at noon on the 25th. The 24th is my birthday. My son wants to stay home on Christmas Day and have as much time as he can with his son...
Then I came down with this flu bug.

Oh, the flu bug is nasty. I had the stomach virus a couple weeks ago (along with about half my staff). Hope you get well soon!
My clinic cat urinated on the microscope so I am cleaning it. Wow, I had no idea that microscope has so many little pieces! I bought it for about $2400 about 10 years ago.
The microscope cleaning guy was here only 2 weeks ago, and that cat just wasted $60 in cleaning fees! Oh well, at least he didn't "anoint" any of the expensive-hard-to-clean objectives.
