This morning as the sun came up and sent it's life giving rays across the fields of fesque and clover, there was a beautiful sight.
A heavy dew. The sun's rays were at an angle that presented me with such splendor, that is hard to describe. As diamonds glisten in bright light, the drops of dew sent showers of spectrums for all to see. The reflections of this marvel were in perfect rythm as the gentle breeze carried them to and fro. A dance to the praise of God Almighty in light.
We assembled in the church last night to offer prayers and listen to the message of God's word. The offer was made to whomever had a request or burden to share it with the brethren. Many needs were lifted and spoken.
I noticed a young lady in the front, 2nd pew back, begining to weep and smile. This is the wife to the young man that got saved on his way to work Monday before last. She raised her hand.
Amidst the tears and blubbering, she burst forth " I just wanted everyone here to know, I got saved this past Sunday night!"
Well, we had a time in the house of the Lord! A father, mother, two sons, and a daughter inlaw......... God is at work in that family and we give Him all the glory.
I asked her later if she would like to tell me about it, her expression was priceless. Through tears of joy and relief she explained:
" Me and my husband were sitting and talking. He was telling me about how sure he was about going to heaven. I could not say the same, I could not go back and base my salvation on anything other than just what I was thinking. I was so miserable, I knew I needed to be saved. I wanted so much to know that I was forgiven and cleasned from my sin. I knew I was in trouble with the Lord. I have been struggling with this for too long, it was time, i knew it. It was about 10:00p.m. , I asked Jesus to save me."
I asked her if she were to die right now, where would she go. Her reply ," I would go to heaven". I said how do you know?
" I asked Jesus Christ to save me... and He did!"
Another victim of deception, set free by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ..
Oh how marvelous! Oh how wonderful!!

Well DB, how was your day? let's see.. Got to church around 11:30 a.m. The bus worker had already left to go get the children for the fun day we had planned for them. I went in and went over some music and started filling the baptistry. Caught up on some messages by way of answering machine, a cool cup of water, and the day was on a roll. the chidren came... Bible memorization, stories , singing, and a salvation message. Dismissal... outside they went. playing cheerfully skinning up knees, and the usual skats among siblings. The food came, pizza, brownies, ice cream, and plenty of fellowship and games to top the evening off.. I sat down with my [ my memory has just failed to remember how many plates i did eat] food once again. I thought for a minute about that cool water in the bottle that i was drinking... REALITY. The baptistry!! well, to make a long story short, and hopefully avoid the ridicule of Keeffer and sister Duck. I and several brethren mopped and dry vacced for many hours.......... seven cieling tiles in the floor in three sunday school rooms, and a swamp under neath the choir loft. I have had a long day.. Nighty nite.... DB. P.S. Go ahead, I can take it!

Duck, Very Funny. However there was a bit of truth to the 'river'. Just you forgot the waterfall. Extracuricular tools needed were indeed life jackets as well as frog gigs, and possibly a boat of some type. Brother Kiefer, I knew it was coming. Thanks for the encouragement. P.S. I really expected a lot more from the two of you, I'm disappointed. The both of you are slackers. Donut eaters. P.P.S. {ain't we havin' a time! who was that said believers can't have fun?} Anyhoo, more great news to follow about today's service, you will be blessed at what the Lord has done. And yes, it is in the same family as the one's who have been saved. You will enjoy this story................................

God bless you Bro. DB; Deep and wide, Deep and wide, There's a fountain flowing deep and wide. Deep and wide, Deep and wide, There's a fountain flowing deep and wide. Your cup runneth over Bro... It will be a church legend for many years to come, a favorite to tell the new members on their beloved pastor. It will also make a heart-warming personal illustration for a sermon one day. You are a true blessing Bro.

May the Lord bless you too brother Caretaker.
I've been caught up with a lot these past couple of days and have not had the chance to finish the story about this past Sun. morning following the "flood".
Out of all them goings on, I have a fresh black cherry cobbler waiting for me....
Let me move on,
This past Sunday morning was a grand time. The young Sister came ready to follow the Lord in baptism with her mother and step- dad, along with a HUGE suprise at the end of the service.
You remember reading about that phone call I got where someone was saved, you'll find it in one of the previous posts. well that man is in his 70's, he and his wife were there the following Sunday, and has been there faithfully since then.
After the Sister was baptized and the church was waiting to encourage her as she came out; the blood sister to the man who got saved came running up to me, her face was as white as a sheet and she had been crying.
"You're not going to believe this!"
I stood there and listened in shock and amazement at what the Lord had set up for that day.
That dear Sister who was telling me this story is blood kin by way of sister to the man that is in his 70's. The young sister who was saved and baptized is his grandaughter that he has not seen since she was an infant.
The young lady did not know that her grandparents on her real father's side were sitting right behind her the whole time!
I lot of bad things are behind the story, and in the past so i'll leave them there.
There were tears flying and rejoicing in the Lord.
so here's the workings of God:
son #1 gets saved. Daddy gets saved. Mama gets saved. Son#2 gets saved. Daughter in law gets saved. Daughter in law's grandaddy who she had never met, get's saved and sit behind her in church.
This coming Sunday the granddad and granma will be baptized as well. The newly aquainted Grandmother had gotten saved years ago, and had a bad expierience with a bunch of legalists, and turned sour. But after Sunday, she came up to me and gave me the biggest ol' hug....." I want to get things right with the Lord, I want to be baptized.."
Her husband standing behing her leans over with tears in his eyes.." Me too."
Excuse me, time out for just a little while, I just got a case of the cain't hep it's!!!
DB ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well praise the Lord! Tomorrow will be another day to meet with the brethren at the church. I look forward to seeing the folk and giving God the praise for what He's doing in the lives of the people. Last night at the weekly prayer meeting, Sister B. said her sister might be coming for her brother's baptism. To her knowledge, this will be a tremendous day, as she never expected her sister to ever darken the door of the church. The family would appreciate your prayers. We will offer a dear Brother and His wife for baptism tomorrow [ yeah, the thought of the 'flood' still lingers ] and we pray the Lord will speak to others in the message. I know I have mentioned baptism a lot, do not misunderstand me, I am one who believes that salvation comes before baptism and that baptism does NOT save. I am just very happy and overjoyed that these people have recently been saved, and have come to me, requesting to be baptized to follow the Lord and identify with Him. I have sen a lot of people who hop up and say "I'm saved", and you cannot get them in the water for nothing. I, personally, am very weary of such people. I truly believe that we're living in the last of the last days, and that God is drawing the net, especially in the area and the families which is located near our ministry. I'm sure and confident the Lord is saving souls around the world. Coming from my background and expeiences in other churches, I'm just amazed at what He's doing here. We give God all the Glory, it's He who is at work, without Him we would be nothing but hopelessly lost for eternity. There's still a young lady on my mind, that came about a month ago. She raised her hand during the invitation, telling me that she was lost. . . I pray that she, too, will be saved before it is too late. I also ask the saved of this MB to pray for my family. i have so many that are lost, and are rejecting the Lord as I write. Dear heavenly Father, Burden our hearts as never before, break the pride, and put to death this old flesh. Let us, the born again, see those around us who are lost; give us the wisdom of words to tell them in understanding about the Saviour of the world. Shall we find ourselves a thy precious feet in prayer every day for the perishing. Speak through us the message of Jesus Christ. Let sinners see the fear of the Lord in our conduct, and daily living, and Lord, please, let every thing done and said be to the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ; so that soon ,very soon may we hear of yet another precious soul being saved. Whether here, or somewhere in this world tonight even, let the gift of salvation be partook of. We'll rejoice with the family of God to hear of another being saved. Bless and intervene in the services tomorrow at the churches and missions represented here. In the lovely name of the Lord Jesus, Amen. DB.

I also ask the saved of this MB to pray for my family. i have so many that are lost, and are rejecting the Lord as I write. Same here DB. Depending on their own goodness, going by their own doctrine (or someone elses), or simply hoping for the best. Nita and I have heard it all, and still, our words fall on deaf ears. Nevertheless... "For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:" (2 Corinthians 2:15)

[glow=red,2,300]Hey Duck[/glow]!
I got me a pint of homemade strawberry preserves. I just got through with getting ready for tonight. I'm going in the kitchen and toast up a half-a-loaf of fresh bread, slather them with butter until the toast gets soppy, spoon the strawberry jam on until, when folded over the bread will look like a football, get me a fresh cup of something to drink, and think about 'cha.
boowwaaahahahaha ;D
DB.
[droolin' yet?]
I have no more cobbler, nor cherries, so where's them dewberries at.... oh, yes, in the briar patch.. but they be worth it.. eh?

Hee hee...got cha on that one DB. I got jars and jars of strawberry preserves that I made myself on the shelf. It is what my grandaughter calls suckin' jelly and here is how it got it's name.
First you take a fist full of preserves and swab it all over a buttered up piece of toast...then you lick off the preserves and feed the toast to my dog Pete.
They have been eating toast and suckin' jelly that way since the very start and they still do...Becks and Pete and a whole jar of Gram's Suckin' Jelly...

roger that Duck! Well the Lord is still at work, praise His precious name!! sister B. the one who's brother got saved and was baptised this past Sunday, had another blood sister that has been bitter and has not set foot in any church for most of her life. She came to see their brother get baptised last Sunday morning. She's been at church ever since. ;D ;D ;D Please pray for her soul, she says she is saved, but only the Lord knows. Sister B. told me she would have never expected her to even come for the baptism let alone be there any other time. Sister B. says if the Lord keeps on blessing the way He has lately, she just might expode I told her to help herself! The Lord would put her back together.. My , ain't the Lord good!!!!! ;D ;D ;D DB.
